Nothing fancy here, but the hotel is well run, rooms basic but comfortable, some smaller or noisier than others so there's a bit of the luck of the draw about it, but the location is great and it's clean and safe.

Room Tip: Ask for a room, not on the street if noise worries you, as Spaniards are out until the wee small hou...

Know what you are buying if you reserve a room in this hostel where all rooms are 60 euro. The location is excellent -- in the Gothic Quarter just off of Plaza San Miguel and near the Plaza Real. The street is very narrow so your taxi may leave you in Plaza San Miguel and you walk the rest of the way.
This is NOT a hotel. No phone, TV or shampoo in the rooms, walls are paper-thin, and there is no breakfast service. But for the price, you can’t beat the location.
I had room 107 which had two single beds and a huge bathroom and was in a quiet location. But it didn’t have air conditioning. Barcelona is hot in the summer. So I moved to room 410, which was half the size, but had air conditioning. There is good, consistent hot water and good water pressure in the shower. Apparently there are only four rooms with A/C. Be forewarned that room 410 is located by the entrance to all the rooms on the 4th floor so there will be people coming thru at all hours and a constant slamming of the heavy iron door. Wear earplugs and you’ll be OK.

Staff is friendly and helpful. There is excellent wi-fi - be sure you get the password.

This is an excellent place to stay if you are young, can stand the noise and don’t expect too much. If you need more hotel-type accommodations you may be happier

Room Tip: If it is summer, reserve a room with air conditioning.

The staff at the reception desk is friendly and helpful, I asked them to help me with booking tickets which turned out to be quite complicated . They helped a lot.
The hostel is perfectly located and climatic.

Rooms are new and clean, location is great. For this price, it's better than what you can find around near the gothic quarter. No AC, noisy neighbourhood, but that's the catch of staying on the very center of Barcelona. I recommend it.

Well located and close to Metro and La Rumbla, plenty to see and do around this area
Was on the second floor with a small slow lift
Rooms varied in size. We had a twin with window facing the street other did not. Room was compact and the bathroom was very compact.

Room was clean but the bathroom was a bit mouldy
No air con, was a fan but in July not really much help, room was stuffy even with fan and window open, beds were comfortable enough

Room was very noisy at night mainly with rubbish collections at all hours of the night the dumping of glass into bins went on constantly for hours sounded like it was directly under my window it was hard enough to sleep with the heat.

Good location but not really enough of a reason to recommend this place

We spent two nights here as part of a tour group. Our room was tiny and there is no air conditioning so it was terribly hot. There was a door you could open to let air in but we were worried about leaving it open in case of intruders. The bathroom was mouldy, tiny and the shower nozzle was hand held so we had to hose ourselves down. We also had to kill 4 cockroaches in our 2 day stay so it doesn't reflect well on their hygiene. We originally had 4 nights booked with them and when we saw the room we asked whether it was possible to go to another hotel and get our money back. We were told by the manager that we could for the last 2 nights so based on this we booked and paid for a different hotel. When we returned that afternoon to get our refund, he went back on his word; the same person said he realized now he couldn't give us a refund! He admitted it was his mistake but couldnt do much about it, he was also very rude and angry about it. It was very poorly handled. This is the worst hostal I have ever stayed at.

Great location (right in the heart of the Gothic District), clean and spacious, the windows of this hostel are tissue thin and block none of the street noise. Be prepared to use earplugs if you are a light to medium sleeper.
