The hotel has a very good location; only steps from Las Ramblas. The staff is very friendly, always willing to help, and very informative. The hotel has a nice Spanish charm to it. The room was very small, plainly decorated, but clean. The bathroom was pretty spacious for European standard. For the price, you really can't beat it. I would definitely stay here if traveling on a budget.

Hotel Peninsular has some nice Spanish charm, it's clean and the staff is very friendly. The location is very good, close to La Rambla. I would like to give the hotel a better rating but unfortunately there are quite a few odd things that pull the rating down.

I stayed here during a business trip so wifi connection was essential. Unfortunately the connection didn't work in the rooms but just on the public areas. My room also had only one electrical outlet and it was in the bathroom. It would have been nice to have the outlet next to the bed so that I could charge my cellphone during the night.

My bathroom didn't have a shower curtain so when I took a shower the bathroom floor was almost flooding. The room was also quite chilly.

I stayed in the attic in the hotel peninsular, which gave me goosebumps at first but I actually didnt mind it.

The attic room I stayed in had 2 twin beds and one full bed which was average in comfort. The bathroom was fair and was cleaned daily. - however I recommend buying some liquid hand soap for we didnt have any in our room to wash our hands.

The room itself was decent for the price you are paying. The morning breakfasts they supply are also decent with muffins, bread, some form of Nutella, cereal and coffee/juice.

I must comment on the hotel staff as they are always smiling and super nice. I made good friends with the front desk gentlemen. They were always helpful when I asked them for directions or places to go.

The location is right off the las ramblas which was perfect for us.

I would revisit the hotel peninsular.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a few nights in September! We were assigned to Attico Uno room, which was quite large. Clean washroom and shower, good breakfast with variety, great location and a short walk to the beach!

I would recommend this hotel!

Used The Hotel Peninsular when we were in Barcelona for a friends 50th, Ideal location to explore Las Ramblas and all it has to offer only 100 m from the middle of Las Ramblas and a metro station. Hotel is basic but clean, idea for a lads weekend, but not the sort of place to go for a romantic one, rooms like you used to find in a spanish resort hotel. clean but basic. Breakfast was good, as much as you could eat and drink, toast, cereal, croissants rolls, muffins etc plus the plastic ham and cheese, but then they always are.

Bit of street noise during the night, mainly cleaning and collecting bins, but nothing unusual

Would use again for a similar trip

i liked the hotel very much. the weather was cold but the heater in our room worked well and extra blankets were provided. the comfy beds were spotless together with the ensuite and there was plenty of hot water and clean towels. it is a budget hotel the price was cheap and it was just off the ramblas and near to the gothic quarter with its small shops and bars. the breakfast was plentiful and we enjoyed sitting in the evening in the central courtyard having a bottle of wine which we had purchased in the shop next door before going out for a meal nearby. yes the rain did penetrate the courtyard once but i enjoyed the character and situation. yes it was noisy at times as there some large groups and the noise did echo but there was no rowdiness and i think we came in later than them. the concierges were very helpful especially one of them.

Room Tip: the ones at the front are better

Barcelona is not always warm and when we were there at the end of February, heating was necessary. Unfortunately, the heating didn't work in any of our four rooms. We slept under piles of blankets.

There were no shower curtains in three of the rooms, and in the fourth, it ended 20cm from the floor, so the bathroom floor was sopping wet in all four rooms after showering.

The number of towels varied, and mostly decreased, through our stay. For safety, it was necessary to use one towel to mop up the floor after showering, and once, that left one double room with one bath towel to use both for drying people off and as a hand towel.

The hotel wifi only works in the courtyard, and not in rooms on the fourth floor.

We'd booked through booking.com, and the people at the reception could not keep track of the payments and rooms that booking.com had sent them. They insisted on double payment for one night at two rooms. They also insist on payment in cash.

During our stay, a group of English university students stayed there as well. I think that may be common; the hotel is inexpensive and in a good tourist location.

The teenagers acted as teenagers do; talking through the night and returning to the hotel very late, drunk and quite loud.

With all the parallel hard surfaces in the hotel, and little in the way of textiles, the sound reverberated through every room.

There are better places. choose one of them.
