Three night post cruise stay at Acta Antibes. Had 2 rooms for spouse and teenage kids. Rooms very clean with hardwood floors and offered free internet. Hotel is in residential area and 10 min walking distance to Sagrada Familia and Bus Turistic. Area very safe and there were some small grocery stores next to hotel for water and snacks. Location gave us an insight to where locals sleep, eat and shop. If you want luxury this is not the place for you. However if you want a great budget hotel in a great location, then this is it.

Edward who works at reception was excellent. He is very organized and personable. Even though we arrived early ( 10 am) he checked us in , gave us maps, directions and alot of info especially about the pickpockets in La Ramblas. On our departure he ordered us a taxi to the airport and we had no problems being ripped off. Edward has a great future in the hotel industry.

We spent 4 nights at double room in September 2009 with an average rate of EUR 61 per night (without breakfast), what for Barcelona standards is very reasonable price for the standard we got. We did not have problems finding the hotel and we were welcomed by friendly staff. Room was cleverly designed, kept clean and generally nice. No objections to the bathroom.
As for the location - probably there's no perfect place to stay in Barcelona as there are so many attractions :-) From Acta Antibes you can easily walk to Sagrada Familia and you also have a metro station few minutes away - for us it was good enough.
Ask the staff about the good places for dining - we loved a tapas bar called Jaizkibel, specialising in seafood. There's also a good bar right across the street but I don't remember the name. We had no breakfast at the hotel, so in the mornings we visited a small bakery on the junction one street away for delicious bocadillos con jamon and energising cafe.
If we come back to Barcelona we'll probably be staying here once again.

The guys at the front desk were helpful and nice. There was free wifi. I got an individual room, it was small, dark and the bed was hard and tiny. The window looked into the center of the building, fire escape stairs, so there was little light and no view. Maybe the double rooms are nicer. It was 75 euros, which isn't ridiculous but I stayed the rest of my visit at Hostal Hostemplo, which I liked quite a bit more and the single rooms are appx 65 euros.

My wife and I traveled with our 26 year old daughter and booked a room for 3. We were pleasantly surprised to find two separate room with a queen bed in one and a single bed in the other. The rooms were fairly spacious with a nice closet. The single room did not have a TV, but they both had an air conditioner, although the one in the larger room didn't work very efficiently. The rooms were very quiet with noise from the street or the hallway.

The bathroom was a nice size. There was no fan, but there was a louvered window which opened into a kind of well space. It was rather odd, and we realized that the neighbor room also had the same in their bathroom so if we were not careful they could see into our bathroom. It was definitely unique.

The staff was friendly and available. The location was in a neighborhood a bit out of the center of town. It was near the have-to-visit Familia Sagrada, and you can easily walk to the town center or the beach. The subway is a few blocks away as well. There are a number of bar/cafe places to eat in the area, but many were smoking so hard to find a good place to eat.

Our extended family booked two rooms one for two and one for three. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean, modern and spacious. The price is very reasonable. The hotel is only two blocks from the Monumental metro station, less then a ten minute walk to La Sagrada Familia and about a 20 minute walk or 5- 8 minute taxi ride to Placa Catalunya and La Rambla.

The neighborhood is quiet and lovely with shopping and restaurants near.

Stayed here one night whilst in transit thru Barcelona. Clean, neat rooms, with all the usual requirements, the location, 2 blocks from the metro, makes connections into and out of Placa de Catalunya (where the aerobus to the airport departs) simple. There are adequate bars and restaurants nearby. Highly recommended.

Stayed 2 nights at the Acta Antibes after a transatlantic cruise and we could not have been more pleased. The hotel is immaculate and the rooms large and comfortable although the beds were a bit hard especially for those used to pillow-top mattresses. Check-in was easy and luckily despite arriving at the hotel at around 10:30AM, we were able to get a room right away. The reception staff was very helpful. The hotel is in easy walking distance to La Sagrada Familia and had a number of good dining choices nearby. The only thing that I would like to have seen was more info about the fact that the breakfast was not included in the price of the room. We were very surprised to be met with a 8.50 Euro per person charge for breakfast. Had we known that, we would have dined elsewhere for much less. I accept some of the blame as I should have asked if there was a charge when I was told where and when breakfast was served.
