“Incredible Views”
Reviewed February 5, 2013

Whether you're on the fort side or coming down the main plaza toward the city, the views are incredible. Get there at sunset and enjoy the show on both sides of the hill.

“Funicular extension from Metro to Montjuic Cable Car”
Reviewed February 4, 2013

Great way to travel that could be used in many other places. Try the Funicular from Paral.lel Metro Station. We were the only passengers on our return to Paral.lel and could sit at the front to watch our descent and the passing of the ascending train. It is very graceful how the trains move apart, pass and move back inline.

“Nice for a sunny day”
Reviewed February 3, 2013

I much enjoyed visiting the castle and the park grounds. I found that the public transport is well connected, and one can get the underground, connect with the funicular, and then choose between walking up the last stretch, through the park, or use the cable car. I decided on going up with the cable car, and enjoy the view and save my breath, and walk back don, through the gardens. The castle ground was well kept, and there are refreshments and snacks to be bought, though not cheap or of top quality. You might want to take a small rucksack with some fruit and refreshments if that is your preferred food. The walk back down did take some head-scratching, as the signs leading you back to the funicular are not always present or clear. The gardens also left me slightly sad - I must confess that I expected more flowers and sights, but it is more of a garden/park than a flowery park. That said, I did definitely not regret it! I would re-visit it, if ever back in Barcelona, and do recommend it if you like a nice view of the city, the Mediterranean Sea, and a walk in the park! However, do it on a nice day!

“Perfect jogging and sunrise”
Reviewed February 3, 2013

De Montjuic have several roads and trails to take you around the many attractions as olympic arenas, Miro museum, botanic garden, cable car, gondolas, Placa d'Espanya with monumental Catalonian Museum d'Art and at the top of mountain the old fortres with very scenic view of Barcelona harbour. De Montjuic was perfect for a beautiful morning jogging with sunrise over the Mediterranean.

“A bit dull, but the fort was interesting”
Reviewed February 2, 2013

I'm not sure if it was due to the time of year we were visiting, but the site seemed to be a bit drab. There were no flowers, which I'm guessing was a function of the time of year, but otherwise there wasn't much else to the place. Being a military history buff, I very much enjoyed walking around the fort at the top and looking out over the bay from the gun turrets, imagining what it must have been like to monitor the coming and going of ships over the last 100+ years. The fort had some interesting exhibits in place (some were closed for the season), and we much enjoyed the pictorial history of the fort and the area.
