Owner description: bcnKITCHEN is a local cooking school, we are passionate about food and our objective is to share that passion with you! We have two kitchens, one in the charming Born district and the other in the Boqueria market building, all of the ingredients we use come from the market that you will be visiting with our chef. Once you arrive back at our cooking school, wine in one hand apron in the other, it’s time to start cooking! After a couple of hours of action you’ll sit amidst the dishes you have prepared with the satisfaction of having prepared a Spanish feast!

The cooking class by Rias was fun and informative, casual and inspiring. A trip to the local Santa Caterina market was punctuated by stops to explain local history and the market itself used as both a gastronomic and historical reference. The cooking was kept simple and we all had a chance to participate and learn. The choice of tapas dishes was varied and not predictable - the red peppers stuffed with a cod cream were something we'd never encountered before. It's a great way to learn about Spanish and Catalan food, have a lot of fun and a great meal.

This is such a great experience! Everyday in Barcelona we are eating the foods that you learn to cook in this class and its so great to see how they are made. Rais is a great chef and teacher, the kitchen is first class and you get to go to the markets to get fresh produce and Rais even give you a brief tour of El Borne and a bit of history along the way. Well worth the money and of course you get to eat all the food you make and recipes to try and make them again later, definitely recommend this one!

This was one of the best things I did on my trip to Barcelona. Rais's class was fun, insightful, and educational. She combined history in with her cooking lessons and market visit, which I loved. The trip to Santa Caterina market was very cool. She gave us some insight into how to navigate the market, and what sort of fresh produce and proteins to buy for cooking Catalonian cuisine. I came away feeling like I really could make everything at home that we made in the class! Rais answered all of our questions and made us feel right at home in her kitchen. A cook of any skill level could take this class and walk away having learned something.

This was as much a window into the Catalan experience as a anything else you might do in the City of Barcelona. Beginning with an informative and fun trip to a local food market, Rais offered a wealth of information about local customs, eating habits, and the history of the food and market. With our groceries, we then made 6 or so memorable tapas and sat to enjoy them and the wine for a late lunch. I am an experienced cook as is my daughter, but some in the class were not. Rais spoke to all levels of experience and made it fun for everyone. BCN Kitchen is immaculately clean and pleasant. This is a "must do" in Barcelona for a foodie.

We were lucky enough to be able to take a cooking class with BCN Kitchen, and Rais was our guide and instructor. My wife and I both loved this experience. We have previously taken similar classes in Paris and Istanbul, but this was the best one yet. Rais was an excellent person to lead this class. She was friendly, patient, kind and understanding. The instruction itself was top notch, and I say so having been an instructor in foodservice for over 20 years. Rais provided everyone with an opportunity to participate, but did not pressure anyone into anything they were uncomfortable doing. What a nice, personable and professional young woman she is! We know that she will be successful throughout her life, and hope that you will be able to experience her class while BCN Kitchen has her in their employ.
