Gaudi's Nest formed the launch pad for our fantastic 6 day visit to Barcelona. The apartment was very well appointed with everything you'd need. Even a welcome bottle of cava. Fantastic wifi access. And fastidiously clean. The location was superb with the metro accessible just across the park. Bodegas, shops, and the full Mercat Sagrada Familia were just steps away to supply all the food you could want.
The owner (Arturo) spent a lot of time with us, familiarizing us to the locale, the best ways to get around, and all the facilities that Gaudi's Nest offers. Including a washer in the apartment! Even the Catalan heritage of the front door. New for 2012 is an on site concierge - Judith - who is a fountain of information and who is available on the ground floor most mid days. We were able to safely leave our luggage in her office until it was time for us to leave for the airport. This was very much appreciated.
The neighborhood is nice and felt very safe. And the building backs on to Parc Gaudi - where there's a dog park that offers ceaseless entertainment.
Of course the major attraction is the church right outside your window. Lit up until quite late most nights you can get a fantastic view from the comfortable roof top terrace. A good set of steps to climb - but well worth it. Apartment 'zero' is on the lowest level of Arturo's rentals so if steps are an issue this is your best bet.
We will be returning!
