My wife & i were on a holiday in Spain in june ... We stayed at the H10 CATALUNYA PLAZA at Barcelona for 4N & we were more than happy ... A lovely boutique hotel - with a great personal & warm staff ... we were looked after with a lot of affection - full marks to the people at the reception : neus, aaiina & the full of cheeky humour xavier ... they made us feel completely at home & guided us perfectly to fantastic eating joints ... Another gem is the Maitre d' - Jesus - he was very warm in his hospitality - never said no to any of our smallest off the menu demands - in fact, he caught a stray remark of ours about preparing Spanish omlettes in a different way & Next Day They Were At Our Table !!! .B'fast here was really BREAKFAST ! .. The location of the hotel is FANTASTIC ! It You overlook the Plaza & the fountains - las ramblas is 3 mins away - great eating outlets ALL AROUND - Le Coste Ingles [the large shopping mall ] just opposite ... Room was small but became very attractive after staying there for 24 hours ... Overall - loved it !

Room Tip: We were in # 311 with a small balcony overlookng the plaza & the fountains ...all rooms facing...

Our travel agent booked this hotel and it was perfect for our first day in Barcelona. Our overnight flight got us in around 10:30am and our room was ready upon our arrival to drop our bags, cross the street and take the double decker bus tour of the city for the afternoon. Great central location and just a short walk to a amazing Tapas at Ciudad Condal. Lounge area has snacks, water, coffee, tea and wine where you can pull up a chair and use the free WIFI. Breakfast the next day was included in our reservation with fresh fruit juices available all on ice in small carafes to take to your table, nice touch. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms have great A/C. A double bed was two twins pushed up to eachother but nice and firm and still quite comfortable for weary travelers. Rooms are a little small but would we stay here again~absolutely!!

You can't beat the location of the H10 Plaza Catalunya. Plaza Catalunya is one of the main hubs of the city and the airport shuttle drops you off a stones throw from the hotel (don't bother taking the Metro, the bus is the way to go).

The rooms are updated and although the bathrooms are a little small it's just right. Get a room with shutters that open out onto the plaza and you will feel the pulse of the city, being only steps from Las Ramblas.

Also, the staff speaks perfect English and is extremely helpful.

I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Get a room that looks out onto the plaza.

This was a short weekend break taking advantage of our daughter being away on a school hockey trip and our son revising for A levels.

The hotel is perfectly placed on Catalunya square at the top of Las Ramblas. We arrived a little early, but they asked us to wait in the lounge area where there is Cava, wine, pastries and nibbles and a lovely sunny terrace.

When we made it to the room around 1330 (three sheets to the wind at this point!) we were delighted with our room as it was overlooking the square, had a lovely bathroom and a nespresso machine (we have one at home).

Location was great for Las Ramblas, shopping, Gaudi houses etc, and taxis are just outside if you want to go further afield.

Only minor gripe was the the bed was 2 singles pushed together, and they were on wheels, so moved around too much.

Overall, we had a great time, and we will definitely use the hotel again next time we visit Barcelona.

Room Tip: We were in 212 directly above Reception and overlooking the square.

Very nice hotel, close to the Ramblas but not the noise of it, very good location. Taxis and tour buses opposite the hotel.
Very delicieus breakfast and friendly staff, if we go back to Barcelona we will stay again in this hotel.

I chose this hotel simply because of the location. It is at the top end of Las Ramblas and only a few minutes walk to Passaig de Gracia where Gaudi's two houses are located a short stroll away. If you are happy to walk you can do the Familia Sagrada from here as well as the old Barcelona Cathedral. Outside the hotel is a very good street bar/café which served good food and cold beer and wine as well as the Cortes des Ingles for that retail therapy moment!
The hotel is in an old style building that has retained its character. The rooms are small but well decorated. Ours had a walk in shower and a balcony that overlooked the plaza. The room had efficient air conditioning and the double glazing made the room very quiet when closed. In the afternoon you can have free cava and cake in the bar and patio area. All around are jars of sweets that you think you will not try but somehow you do! The staff are very pleasant and make you feel comfortable. Breakfast is a combination of cold platter and a hot choice such as eggs, bacon, mushrooms etc that are cooked very quickly to order. The room you have your breakfast in is quite grand and beautifully decorated.
I would have no hesitation at returning to this hotel should I go to Barcelona again and would always recommend it.

Room Tip: Get one in the front with a balcony for the view and atmosphere of Barcelona.

We stayed here for 2 nights. i picked this hotel for is location plus the reviews i had read! they were not wrong, the hotel has the pefect location for seeing the city! We walked everywhere but the metro, buses and the tour buses depart from just outside the front door!

The room are lovely, clean and quite! We had a room over looking the square was expecting a noisy night but we were wrong. The hotel itself is a peace place to get away from husstle and bustle of the city center, no banging doors that you get in larger chain hotels! Breakfast was fab and the addition touches like coffee machines in the rooms and the Cava stand were a simply piece of luxury.

The staff were helpful, especially Xavier was so kind helping me printing our tickets for tours that i had book not to mention very patient

We will be going back as there is so much to see and do in Barcelona we didn't get round to seeing it all.
