My mother and I decided to go for a holiday to Barcelona. It has been many years since we managed to get away, just the two of us and we were very excited. We both love old places with character and we saw that Kokopeli had a tour to an ancient village called Rupit. That sounded intriguing and we booked places.
The village is unbelievably charming – old, old buildings, flowers growing from all the windows and balconies, narrow, twisting roads, cobbles – we wanted to take pictures of everything.
My mother did not feel up to the trek so the Kokopeli guide showed her where she could sit at a pleasant café, have a coffee and then meet us two hours later at the restaurant.
I joined the trek happily knowing my mum would do just fine. My trek was beautiful – such scenery! Water! Mountains! Lovely!. The guide was so helpful that I thought my mother could have tried…
On our return to the restaurant I found My mother had already made friends with the owners, had been shown their fascinating kitchen range and was ready to welcome us as if she were the hostess.
What a wonderful lunch we had – typical Catalan food, delicious! It was a wonderful day; well done, Kokopeli!!
