We spent three nights at the europark Hotel end of August, and we have been absolutely surprized by the high quality standards of the hotel and by the efficiency of the staff.
The hotel is located at walking distance just between the magnificient Sagrada Familia and the Passeig de Gracia avenue were fabulous Casa Batlo and La Perdreria are seated. We had two very clean double bed rooms of pretty decent size. The decoration is simple but elegant (with classy dark and cream tones); the bathroom follows the same style and had a nice big size shower.
The breakfast is buffet with enough choice of warm and cold stuff (sausages and other spanish specialities, eggs, cereals, plenty of pastries, fruit salads, fresh orange juice). Just one small comment about the coffee that could have just been of a slightly higher quality in order to start the days wonderfully.
The hotel also has a small but pleasant rooftop pool to get refreshed after a day's walk, but the size does not really allow to swim much.
A good point that is a plus for this hotel compared to many other hotels (especially all those 5-stars') is the free and efficient internet access in all parts of the hotel. This is really showing that this hotel takes good care of its customers, especiall when travelling with teenagers.
The efficiency and friendliness of the staff was also very much appreciated. If you are afraid to walk, transportation is not a problem: you can rent bikes easily in several places in Barcelona, you can also use metro (nearest station is on short distance from the hotel), but since the hotel is located on a large one-way avenue, there are also plenty of taxis that will pass by for your convenience and fares are still affordable (especially if you are 3 or 4) as compared to other big cities within Europe.
All in all, we have spent a very agreable time at the Europark hotel. It was our first time in that hotel and we would really and definitely recommend to other customers visiting this city. It has no restaurant (but room service with simple dishes is available in case) but the city has over 3000 restaurants and the choice is out there to go for a nice meal whilst visiting the different parts of such wonderful city (btw, we can also recommend excellent tapas at two restaurants that are close to the city Hall square (l'Arlequino and Orio).
