“Great location, great breakfast, great trip”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2013

Hotel Turin was very nicely position for the trip we had in mind. It is right beside La Rambla (a long stretch of central Barcelona that's popular with tourists) yet far enough away from the crowds as to not be to noisy late in the evenings. The main frequent Airport Bus service stops just up the road, and the local railway station and Metro station is less than 5 minutes walk. Talking an evening stroll along La Ramble is very nice, safe and not far from the hotel at all. Reception is open 24 hours so you can return late or leave early.

The reception area was welcoming, as were the reception staff. Our room was small but large enough to move around. It was clean, with a nicely sized bathroom, with a walk in shower (no bath). We were in room 510, which I believe is the only one that has a large balcony, which included patio chairs and a table, which was very nice to sit out on in the evenings. The view wasn't great, it was of the rear of the hotel and of local residencies, one of which looked derelict, but as we didn't spend much time in the hotel it didn't bother us at all. You can hear some noise in the evenings of the crowds and outside entertainment from the local accordion player, but it wasn't loud and with the window closed you could not hear a thing.

If you don't get the room with the balcony, the terrace on the first floor (accessible from the ground floor) is a really nice place to sit in the evenings with a drink.

Breakfast was really nice, a great selection of foods from scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages, to cereals, yogurts, croissants and even cake. The fresh fruits came from the local markets and were far superior than anything I've got from the local supermarkets in the UK.

There is a supermarket less than a 1 minute walk from the Hotel, perfect for picking up an evening snack and bottle of water / coke, etc for the night.

Upon checkout there are secure storage lockers available to keep your luggage in until you return to the Airport, which were were able to do until very late in the evening, and all you need is a €1 deposit. The hotel has downstairs toilet facilities so when you return, even if you don't have a room you can still freshen up.

Hotel Turin is highly recommended, and I would return there without giving it a second thought.

Room Tip: Rooms at the rear seem very quiet. Room 510 has its own balcony with outside table and two chairs.

Dear guest:

Thank you very much for taking the time to write this lovely review on TripAdvisor about us. Your reviews allow us to improve in our daily work.

Our breakfast is a free buffet with a great selection of foods from scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages, to cereals, yogurts, croissants and even cakes made at home. The fresh fruits come daily from the Boqueria Market, near the Hotel, so don't forget to visit it When You come: It's the paradise for the senses.

Just returned back from a small 4-day outbreak. Hotel in excellent location, close to everything. Neighborhood also safe, could return back to the Hotel late at night without any problem. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms small but very clean. Large bathroom. Breakfast is excellent with lots of variety. If back to Barcelona again, I will definitely choose TURIN. Highly recommended for a three star Hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms on higher floor levels are much quitter.

This was our second visit to the Turin, chosen for it's proximity to the city centre.
We had the same room - very quiet, as requested, but this time it was extremely cold and - having asked about heating - we were told that the 'air conditioning isn't switched on yet'.
There are a few problems that could easily be rectified:
Choice at the breakfast buffet. There seemed to be lots of choice re: bread, cakes, fresh fruit, etc.And although if you like a continental breakfast it would be ok - I imagine many of the guests are from the UK and farther west, so maybe some thought could be put into more varied options. And trays left unfilled isn't good enough. As was the almost constant lack of breakfast tea-bags.
Cleanliness: we noticed that the carpets outside the lifts on the fifth floor were stained and dirty. Not a good sign.
Reception staff. The majority of the reception staff are courteous and helpful, but I'm afraid that one male, Luis, was extremely unhelpful, discourteous and just couldn't be bothered to help with a specific enquiry. In fact he prevaricated when asked a direct question and that isn't a good sign either.
Tea and coffee station: this is only open from 3 - 10 pm (ridiculous hours) and many times there were no cups or water and a lack of 'ordinary' tea - not everyone drinks herbal teas.
So if you are planning to stay at the Turin. do a bit of research before you go. And we will not be returning t o the hotel, mainly because of the above comments.
Very disappointing, particularly as I had previously recommended this hotel.

Nice hotel with excellent location in the city. Close to metro. Small Rooms but clean and big bathroom/shower. Breakfast was very good. Had problems with the internet in my room the first day but they were helpful at the reception. Next day the problem was solved.

We have stayed at Hotel Turin twice now prior to going on a cruise and we have been very pleased on both occasions. The location is fabulous - a one minute walk (or less) will have you at Las Ramblas. There are several great restaurants nearby as well as wonderful shopping and places to sightsee. Be sure to check out the tapas restaurant just a few feet from the entrance on the same side of the street. It will be facing you as you leave the hotel and has both indoor and outdoor seating. The menu is posted just outside the door and there are only two steps to enter the restaurant. We had no problems getting our mom up the two steps (she was in a wheelchair). The sangria and tapas are wonderful and the wait staff is excellent.

Now, back to the hotel...the rooms are modern and have everything you need including a tv and hairdryer. WiFi is free and if you don't have your own device, they have two computers in the lobby (please note they do not have a printer). Breakfast was excellent with a wide assortment of food to choose from. I recommend you pay the extra money if it isn't already included in your room rate. The staff is very helpful and friendly and they go out of their way to ensure you have a great visit.

We stayed there in September - a family of four adults, in room 608.
The location of the hotel is really excellent. Just near La Rambla - about 50m in a side street, in the Raval quarter, and within minutes from La Boqueria famous market.
Parking is in a garage further down the street (really close by) and it costs 26 euros per day.
Reception were friendly and they speak English (which is something you don't always get in Spain).
Access to the hotel is from street level, without stairs. There's an elevator to the rooms. Didn't like the fact that the elevator has no AC or fan.
View from the room isn't spectacular but you see some old rooftops, hotel W and the funicular to Montjuic.
The room for 4 is quite small. It has 4 single beds, which take most of the room space. 2 of the beds are folding and opened from a closet. The mattresses weren't that good and weren't that comfortable.
The sink is separated from the bathroom, which is very comfortable when you travel with several persons. The bathroom has a bide.
The room has several electrical sockets in comfortable places, a writing area and a small TV (could be larger). The room also has enough light sources, so you don't sit in a dim light in the evening.
The room has an AC unit, but the temperature couldn't be controlled very well.
The breakfast in this hotel is really superb. Very abundant. Just to mention 'highlights': it had omelet, 2 kinds of sausages, cold pies, pizza-like sandwiches, several kinds of cheese (including goat cheese and mozzarella), several cold meats, fresh cucumbers and tomatoes, black breads and rolls, fresh and crispy baguette, croissants (large and small), cakes, tarts (liked the apple), pastries. There were also several juices (including pineapple).
The hotel offers free and good Wi-Fi connection, in the room too. Also the lobby has 2 computers with free internet connections, which have all 3 main browsers.
There's a supermarket nearby, on La Rambla.
All in all, a very good hotel if you want to see the city.

I spent 3 nights recently a the Turin Hotel traveling alone. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel and the breakfast buffet (which is served until 11!). The staff is very welcoming and helpful and the majority of them speak English well. The location can't be beat. It is very easy to get to the bus station even walking with luggage and its proximity off the Ramblas allows it to be somewhat quieter. Note: there is a bar next door and the walls are relatively thin. If you can't deal with some noises while resting, you should ask for a room away from the road. I was in room 109 and the noise did not bother me much. The room is very basic, don't expect a luxurious bed or bathroom, but it was very clean, modern and welcoming. I would stay here again in a heart beat.

Room Tip: if you can't deal with street noise (they clean the streets every night and there is a bar next...
