“Great Location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 12, 2012 via mobile

We stayed at the Rialto at the end our cruise. We arrived at the hotel very early in the morning with our luggage. It was too early to check in but they did let us store our luggage which was all we needed at that time. There was a problem finding our reservation and the hotel was busy, so we were quite concerned. They did eventually find it which led us to think that they are not completely organized at the front desk. When we did check in later in the day, we found the room very small, but very clean, although the hotel does require some cosmetic maintenance. We did come and go thoughout the day and night and found the staff very friendly and helpful when we had questions. The location of the hotel is fantastic, only about a 5 minute walk from Las Ramblas and was easy to find the street from Las Ramblas with a KFC & McDonalds right at the corner. We slept well and did not hear any street noise from our room. Bathroom was a full bath and was also clean. Breakfast in the morning was in an extremely large restaurant in the basement. Again, very clean and there was A LOT of food that we thoroughly enjoyed. Everything was convenient and the price for a hotel right in the heart of Barcelona was a good value.

This hotel really is in the perfect spot, nr the underground and right in the heart of the gothic quarter, close to the port and the main shopping area and markets. The downside was we did get woken up a few times from street noise. The hotel itself was clean and the room was pleasant with LCD tv but could have done with a fridge. I would say some communal areas look shabby and there was a sewage smell in the morning from the bathroom which was quite unpleasant. Breakfast was typical of the continent and adequate. Overall not bad and would stay there again

I have just returned from a 4 day stay here as a surprise trip for my Husbands 40th Birthday. We stayed in room 106 which is right at the front above the hotel entrance. I found the reception staff most helpfull and not rude as to the other comments on here. Yes the rooms are small but to be honest what are you after? It is a city break in a fantastic location so the room only serves a purpose to sleep and shower. Why would you stay in Barcelona to spend all your time in a hotel room. Yes it was noisy from the crowds on the street but hey you are on holiday. I would recommend this hotel as you really can walk to every where that you need to get to or you can just jump on the metro.

We found the reception staff friendly and helpful. They organised our football tickets for us. When the tickets didnt arrive as promised they chased them for us and ensured we recieved them. We were given advise on which were the best metro tickets to buy for the journeys we wanted. On the final day they called our transfer company and checked our transfer times, they were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was cleaned every day and the towels changed when needed. Dont think you can ask for more from a cenrally located city centre hotel. My only advice would be to try to get a room away from the main road if you want an early night. Id use this hotel again.

Easy access från Place Catalonya where the airport buses and Hop on hop off buses stopped. Nice surroundings and places for dinner in the evening, even some shopping opportunities close by. Walking distance to Picasso museum. WiFi by paying a fee to the hotel was a disadvantage, though and we did not try it.

Room Tip: We slept three adult people in one room, which was fine. Some traffic from street side but okey.

The room 608 was smelly to the point of nausia. the drains stunk to high heaven
the lifts were aways full. so i enjoyed the exercise.
the staff are ignorant.

however. the hotel is in a great city and in an ideal location.

Room Tip: yeah. try choosing a room in a different hotel !

This was a great choice in central Barcelona for the money - lots of dining, tourist & travel options nearby.
Our room overlooked a kind of internal courtyard which made it very quiet, we were not disturbed by either internal or external noise.
I'd definitely stay here again.

We only stayed one night before joining a cruise. Athough the location was excellent in the Gothic quarter, tbe hotel was way below par for a 3 star. Our room was depressingly small and dark and tbe bathroom very tired. We didn't eat or drink in the hotel, quite frankly we chose to spend as little time as possible in the hotel
