Barcelona is a truly great city for a weekend break. The Hotel Rialto is a 3 Star Hotel in the Gothic Quarter just of La Ramblas and within walking distance of many of the city'smajorvtourist attractions
A basic hotel with decent sized well equipped rooms a large bathroom and very helpful staff it is an ideal base from which to discover this city. A plethora of excellent places to eat to suit all budgets are on the doorstep.

The hotel provides an excellent hot and cold buffet breakfast in the quaint cellars that are part of the hotel
Because of the position of the hotel it can be a little noisy at nighttime if your room overlooks the main street but the courtyard rooms are quieter

An excellent value for money hotel for a short break

Room Tip: Ask for one that does not overlook Carrer Ferran

this hotel is in a great location cannot stress that enough!!! its just off las ramblas and its in walking distance from the port and the main square. the rooms are small enough but the bathroom was suprisingly spacious.
we stayed in march(2012) but the only fault was each time we came to the room it was VERY stuffy and the air conditioning was poor so the window was open all night, thankfully it wasnt too noisy. plenty of irish bars and nice restraunts for every age and taste close to this hotel.
be careful of gypsys the operate in pairs every few meters selling drugs and cans of beers, they didn't hassle us even after a no thank you but just a heads up.
the breakfast buffet is great with a good varity to start the day. the receptionists were very helpful to us and were always happy to answer our questions. ESPECIALLY the lovely recptionist who helped us get a taxi safely to the airport as the strikes were on and we were very worried we wouldnt get to the airport!! i would truely recommend this hotel and would 100% stay again! hope you found this helpful! x

We have booked for hotel Oasis but this hotel was overbooked and they sent us to the Rialto. We had room 260 and it was terrible. It was a dark, stinky and noisy room. The bed was damaged, the window needs some paint and the bathroom was horrible. The toilet keeps flushing down and when the people above us were taking a bath/shower the water leaks trough the ceiling !!!
The people in the hotel (reception/breakfastroom) were very unfriendly.
The only positive thing was the location.

This hotel has a perfect location! It's near to the port and main
touristic street La Rambla. It's a nice historic hotel. But staff
wasn't so helpful and friendly. I didn't like breakfast at all. It was
very chaotic and food was not adequate. Breakfast room was full of
people. Elevators were very busy. No free internet connection.

The hotel was okay. The room was clean and nice size, but the air conditioning wasn't very strong. Liked the fact our room was an inside room away from the street because we did not hear the street noise that was loud. There are only two elevators so to get down to breakfast or go up took a while. The location on the other hand was perfect. It was centrally located, near the Ramblas, walking distance to the beach (15 minutes) and close to the metro and buses. Also, a fridge and minibar would have been nice, since it is advertised on the website. Also, this was the only hotel we stayed at in spain where you had to pay for wifi...and it was only available in the lobby and not even in the rooms.

I just stayed at the Rialto hotel and I think it is a fine hotel if you want to stay there just to sleep. It is a 3 star hotel so there are no frills but it does exactly what it says. The rooms are small but are very clean and safe. The breakfast we had included was excellent with plenty of choice.
The best thing was the location. It is located right in the middle of everything. Close to the beach, la Ramblas and many gothic churches etc. If you want to be close to everything its the place to stay but dont expect luxery by any means. Also if you fancy something to eat other then tapas there is an excellent vietnamese restaurant called Bun Bo on C. Sagristans across from Barcelona Cathedral. It was agreat find and the food was excellent also. Could not recommend highly
