“Next to supermarket, near train station, good breakfast and helpful staff”
Reviewed October 13, 2012

This was the third and last hotel we checked in to during our visit to Spain. As it was the most expensive and marketed as a boutique hotel, we expected it to be really nice so we can finish our trip on a high note. We were offered a glass of champagne as we checked in and upon arriving at our room (204), we were very disappointed to find just enough room to fit a small double bed, one bedside table, a wardrobe and a side table with the TV on. There was barely room to leave our luggage. The bathroom was a very good size though. I went down to request for a bigger room and Tomaz was very helpful, telling me apologetically that the hotel was full for the night but that we could move to a bigger room tomorrow.

The next morning, we had breakfast for €10pp, great selection of fruits, pastries, hot food etc, left our luggage with reception and went out for the day. Upon our return, we were given hotel room 205 which was much bigger, albeit with a smaller bathroom. The bed was the same size, but we had two bedside tables and enough room to open our luggage in the room.

There is a jacuzzi on the 8th floor, accessible by stairs from the 7th floor. We went up there but couldn't figure out how to make to work, turning the knobs did nothing and there were no switches or instructions nearby. Might have been us not knowing how to work it.

Pros:
1. Clean room
2. Next to big supermarket so easy access to water, fruits and snacks
3. A few minutes walk to major train station, Estacio Sants, with underground and overground train connections. (we took a return train from there to Valencia)
4. Free wifi in room
5. Great breakfast
6. Friendly helpful staff

Cons
1. Charge for tea/coffee making services - €2 per day
2. The initial small room we were given

Not sure it was better value for money compared to Gran Torre Catalunya which is just a minute away, older but roomier, cheaper and just across the station.

i have just returned from a three night stay at the h10 hotel itaca. Arrived late on the friday
night to find a pleasant girl in reception her name ended in la pina. check in was fast and first
impressions of the hotel was good. I was travelling with my 11 year old son and when we got
to our room it was clean and modern but very small a typical city hotel room.
We had breakfast every morning which was very good and in buffet style and was lots to choose
from. Also the diningroom was modern and with lots of room. The outside deck area at the rear
of the hotel is lovely but the pool is only knee deep! the hotel is in the sants area of the city and
is 5 mins walk away from the metro and main bus station/train station for the city.
we were there to explore the city which is beutiful and to go to the camp nou to see barcelona v
real madrid which was unforgertable. the hotel and the city are brilliant.
The only thing that would put me off going back to barcelona are the pickpockets they are everywhere so beware.

the hotel is situated away from the bizz of the city centre but you can walk into the centre of barcelona in roughly 30 minutes.the staff could not have been more helpful and pleasant.the food in the hotel was very good for dinners with a good choice.breakfast was not included in the price but you got very good value for money if you had the breakfast.there is a small pool and a roof top jacuzzi.the hotel is very clean and well run and i would certainly recommend staying there.

Room Tip: ask for room at the back of the hotel.we had a room overlooking a main road but the noise level was...

As good as expected, would recommend it, and i would stay again without hesitation. The staff from check-in to check-out were great in all departments for help or information. The food was good, location was good too. One problem is the usuall european citys thing where you book a double an get two singles pushed together, otherwise i couldn`t really fault the place.!
Only thing i wasn`t happy with was the transfers we were last to be dropped off after finally leaving the airport, and then realised we had driven zig-zag across the city and had been near the hotel a couple of times.
Anyone staying at this hotel should definetly get the train from the airport as the train/metro station is literally across the road from the hotel, i wouldn`t even call it a short stroll..!!

Stayed here for two nights and was really impressed! We had a long and unpleasant journey to get here which was immediately improved by the welcome at reception including a glass of cava. Our room was immaculate (as was this entire hotel!) and really nicely furnished. The hotel is a short stroll to the nearest metro station which gets you access to wherever you might want to go to in Barcelona. An excellent and wide selection for breakfast set us up for heading out and about. On our return at night we thoroughly enjoyed sitting in the terrace bar looking on to the pool with great service and reasonably priced drinks. I would definitely stay here again, an excellent, well placed hotel with 1st class staff.

Stayed in the hotel for 3 nights in total. 1st night was no great, but that wasn't the fault of the hotel, but the fault of the person that was in the room nextdoor. the walls are very thin, so if you share a wall with a noisy person, there goes your good nights' sleep...
We called the reception and they tried to ask him to quiet down and told us that tomorrow he's leaving. so at least the other 2 nights were much quieter.
Stayed on the 7th floor (which is the top floor), which I think was good because you don't hear anything from the street. (not that it's noisy at night but I like to sleep later).

The breakfast is really good!!! big variety of food from fresh fruit, cereal, eggs, bacon, bread, cheeses, coffee atc...
didn't have dinner but for 20 euros you can get a big buffett that I'm sure is good.

from the 7th floor you can walk up to the roof top where they have a few fitness machines, a sauna and an outdoor jacuzzy. didn't manage to use it, but on a sunny day it's really nice to sit in it and relax.

One of the best things is that the hotel is 3 minutes walking distance from the main "Barcel Sants Estacio" which is a main station with line 5 and line 3 of the metro (green and red), buss stations, and the "renfe" train. outside of it there's a stop also for the tour buss that takes you around all of the city, did that on the first day- recommended!
Also 7 minutes from the hotel there's the "Arenas" mall (with restaurants on the top floor with a great view), that is right next to the espanya square and the magic fountaines that light up at night, from 21:00 and are really fun to watch.

Staff is very nice and professional.good level of English. rooms are super clean, comfortable beds, clean bathroom with a nice tub. (looks exactly like the pictures in their site).

All and all it was a good stay, except the noise from our neighbour and the internet on the computers down at the reception floor that didn't work when we wanted to order tickes for the sagrada famillia so we could print them out and wasted like 40 mins for it to work...

free wifi- great advantage for me (bring a lap top!!!), coz there's nothing on TV for english speakers that don't know spanish\french\german (the only languages that are on the channels).

Room Tip: I always like to stay on the top floors far away from the main road...and ask for a room that the ne...

We stayed in the H10 universitat and loved it so When that was full we opted with some confidence for this one. We stayed for 2 nights at the end of a cruise.
We were given room 202.
We booked a twin / double we had a small double bed. I suffer from fibro myalgia and my husband has a disability with his arm so we need either a large bed or twins. We could not be moved as they said that they were full the consequence was 2 very bad nights sleep.
This though was secondary to the health and safety issues with this hotel. The very large windows that came down to my knees opened up fully out the restrainers were broke there was a drop of some 40ft to the street below. I will add photos.
The shower head was filthy and the washing line broken. There was loads of noise under the window at around 4am and then this came in inside on to our landing and went on from there.
The breakfast was stone cold they did bring us bacon and eggs that the warmed but this was not what we picked anyway.
The staff we encountered were friendly and we have no concern about that. We would never stop here again and it ruined what had to then been a good holiday. I have sent these complaints to the group and i will see what happens
The swimming pool is a farce and nothing more than a paddling pool it was on the basis of the pool that I picked tis hotel.

Room Tip: Don't stay there and if you do get a room at the back
