We found this restaurant after using trip advisor and decided to give it a try and we are glad that we did. Its not the easiest place to find. We didn't book but managed to get a table as we went early. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The food was really good and compared to many other places in Barcelona is very reasonable. A must try is the blackberry mojito. The only let down was that we went there only once.

Do not miss dining here! Best restaurant in Barca! We tried many of the dishes all of which were delicious. Might be hard to find as is down a little back street but just hop in a cab with the address and all will be well. The atmostphere is great, the staff are really attentive and friendly and the food is second to none.

My boyfriend and I went to Barcelona to celebrate his birthday, so it was his pick of restaurant for the night, and he chose Cera 23. It was a bit of a walk from our hotel, and sorta hidden on the street, but in the end, it was more than worth it. We started at the bar and had a wine and beer (but I really wish I would´ve chosen one of the great mixed drinks!!!) and then went to our table at about 10:00. Before we even ordered, our waiter brought us a pre-appetizer of cream cheese and blackberry preserves and thin bread sticks--wonderful! We then shared an appetizer of fried shrimp (tempura) which was awesome. Then he ordered the steak (solomillo) and I got the black rice (volcan de arroz negro)...and DELICIOUS is the best way to describe it. For dessert, we shared the chocolate cake with ganache, which was a bit of a let-down after the amazing food we began with. All in all, a wonderful meal, and under 50euros for 2 for (essentially) 4 courses.

Highly recommended, especially if you are looking for something new!!! But DO make reservations, we saw many people turned away for not having reservations on a Friday night. The staff was very friendly and more than accommodating. They asked us how we were and if the food was good (an unusual thing in Spain). Also, everyone speaks English, so do NOT let that deter you, and try it out!

As an expat in Barcelona for over 10 years, I was impressed by the reviews on TripAdvisor so went with a group of 10 others (in Jan 2013). True, the waiters are genuinely lovely, the restaurant has a great cosy warmth to it and the rasberry mojitos are brilliant (for which we will be returning).

However trip advisor reviewers seem to have built this place up to gastronomic orgasm proportions and unfortunately it's not that. All 10 in my party shared the same opinion (both Catalans and expats). The place is good true, but I don't quite understand the Trip Advisor review hype of this place. There are other restaurants in Barcelona with far more memorable food...perhaps the waiters there are not as friendly, and they do not speak English, but the food is better. Cera 23's food is good...but just don't expect it to live up to all the review hype-up.

A little bit tricky to find, but worth the effort ! Not the typical tapas bar you'll find anywhere in Barcelona. The dishes combine local food (sea food, meat, vegatables) with foreign flavours (asian fusion), and the result is very good and satisfying. This is Not a big place, so it is better to make a reseravation in advance. We paid about 60 EUR for a nice meal for 2 (Including 1 drink and 1 dessert).
