“Authentic, delicious experience”
Reviewed June 6, 2013

We run into the place by accident, wandering around the area, trying to avoid tourist traps (not that there are many tourists in the area) or "posh" places. We were thinking of a beer and some tapas. "Jamon Jamon" is actually a place that sells all kinds of jamon and various delicacies. It has some stools for brunch/lunch and is operates during store workinh hours, meaning it closes around 21:30.Locals come in and go all the time- they buy for the house, for the office, to go...and quite few stay for lunch. We thought that at least we would taste some decent jamon. What a revelation! A friendly waiter tried to guide us through the Spanish menu (we don't speak any Spanish but after 5 days in the city we found our code of communication). We chose the most expensive jamon they had (13 euros for a plate of heaven....well spent), a tortilla de patata and a plate called Cazuelita, an oven baked mix of egg with mushrooms, potatoes, jamon and herbs and a provolone cheese with egg and oregano. We tasted the red wine (as good as expected). I had the taste of jamon, its juices and flavors in my mouth for hours after our lunch. This place is off track- trust me, it is worth taking the metro to get there!! You will not regret it
