This hotel has large, modern, clean rooms in the heart of the central area of Barcelona allowing one easy access to many sights, restaurants and shopping. It is near the Ramblas, the Gothic area with the cathedral and government buildings. Our only regret is that we did not realize how near we were to the historic area and tended to go the long way around. The location is in a commercial-residential-shopping area that is known to be safe with people always about. We highly recommend it! You can easily get breakfast and all meals and snacks in the local cafes and restaurants. We had a quiet room on the 4th floor in the rear on the courtyard. Our cab driver from the cruise terminal used his GPS and easily located the hotel.

We also took advantage of the Free Walking Tours, historic city and Gaudi, which started just a 10 minute walk walk down the Ramblas. We highly recommend these tours and the classy restaurant BELLA-TAPA at Rambla Catalunya 8 for great service, tapas, meals at wonderful prices! (AVOID a restaurant on Ramblas near H&M)which took advantage of all non-Spanish speakers by sending them upstairs and insisting on ordering for them.we left with a bill 2x other meals due to their serving us twice what we asked for and significantly less satisfactory, much fried and breaded food).
Pick pockets were seen in action on the metro. Many women (local and visitors) wear body sling bags which they keep their hands on and the visiting men that I knew had waist wallets. Also watch your luggage. We heard tales of guests having their luggage taken from them at the airport. Heed the safety warnings. Enjoy the Gaudi buildings...don't miss Casa Batillo...wow! and have a wonderful stay!

Room Tip: Our room on the courtyard was both modern and quiet. It shared space with residential apartments.

The one and only good thing about this hotel is that it is near to placa catalunya where many of the shops are. However, despite the good location, it is not easy to find this place. It is inaccessible to taxis and the street name "duc de la Victoria" cannot be found, neither do any locals we asked know about this place or this hotel.

Room is clean but old. I am a heavy sleeper, yet, was kept awake by the noise from neighboring rooms and at 6 am, noise from what sounds like persistent hammering and drilling. A check with the reception was met by a snide remark "must be people checking out, you mean you don't allow others to check out the hotel". I think anyone would be smart enough to know how to differentiate between check-out noise and persistent pounding sounds.

Overall, I think one can find better hotels at the same price range else where.

The NH Barcelona Centro is located on a quiet street but within close walking distance to Las Ramblas and the Gothic Quarter. It is located within a couple of blocks of the Catalunya metro stop and the Aerobus stop. The room was clean with a comfortable bed. Free wi-fi is a plus.

We flew into Barcelona on a Friday morning and stayed at this property. It is about 3 blocks off La Rambla - it was a challenge for a our taxi driver to locate but we asked a police officer who directed our taxi to the hotel (about 30 Euros). I'm glad we stayed off La Rambla - as we wanted to catch on on a little sleep. I felt very safe and the location was excellent. There was a small grocey and cafe nearby. A short walk to La Rambla allowed us our choice of shopping and food. It was a short ride to the cruise port (about 10 -15 Euros). The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was multi-lingual and communication in English was no problem. I was very pleased and would stay in the hotel again. The room was a little small - but for a one night stay it was very acceptable.

Took advantage of holiday travel plans to stay here on our way to a friend's villa and to show the kids Barcelona.
This hotel could not have been more convenient for the centre of the city. Less than five minute's walk from the airport-bus drop-off point in Placa Catalunya and 2 mins walk to Las Ramblas but in a quiet back-street far enough away from the hubbub to guarantee undisturbed sleep,
A clean, comfortable and reasonably well equipped hotel. The front-desk staff were very welcoming and attentive - a real credit to their hotel.
Prices were reasonable (we had a standard room and a junior suite to accommodate us all). The Junior-Suite was not as big, proportionally, as the increase in cost versus the std room, but did have the essential third bed that we needed.

Room Tip: Top tip would be to eat and drink at the many bars and restaurants, which are in abundance all aroun...

The hotel a few minutes walk from La Ramblas yet still quiet at night. Have free wifi and breakfast included (check when book to make sure of the breakfast). Its also just around the Baltic Goltic. There is a grocer just across the street to get water and juice. Clean room and big enough for our purpose.

Reasonable priced room with a great location. Short walk to La Rambla but on a quiet street. Lots of good places to eat close to hotel. You must visit the market La Boqueria. We ate at Bar Pinotxo multiple times. The rooms were comfortable and clean. I've never been disappointed with a NH hotel.
