We discovered this really sweet little bar after walking out of one of the rip off places on Carrer Ferran, we were so glad we did. There was something about the décor which was a little 1920's and somehow I could see Margaret Rutherford holding a séance in there, but it worked and felt cosy and comfortable.
This is a great place to sit and have a drink (4 Euros for a large beer which seemed cheaper than most of Irish bars nearby) and the tapas was excellent - little fishes for 6 euros was a generous portion of crisp Whitebait.
Q Bar is more a restaurant as much as a bar and so we stayed for a meal For a main course I had a Peruvian dish of Lamb with Yucca, the lamb was excellent, tender and falling of the bone - the Yucca reminded me of Parsnip. There were about six people eating when we were there and everyone seemed to be very happy with their food.
We returned twice more and were struck by the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the food. On one night they had a party of 10 eating and this did seem to put the Kitchen off a little when it took almost an hour for food to arrive, but when it did it was once again excellent.
I would thoroughly recommend this place as a good value for money choice in an area where there are far too many places ready to charge a fortune for rude service and bad food.
