I'm actually still staying at this hotel as we speak. Taking a break from the day's activities to write a review. I've stayed at this hotel many times over the years, and you can't go wrong. The rooms are spotless, the staff is very friendly and helpful. I requested a room with a terrace so I could smoke outside (all rooms are "non-smoking" in theory anyway). My request was honored. The water pressure in the shower is terrific, almost too much really. I don't care for the way they shove two twin beds together to make a king, but that seems to be the norm in Europe.

The neighborhood....ah, what can I say. I want to really describe this neighborhood for people in detail. The hotel seems to be on the edge of a poorer immigrant neighborhood. There are a lot of people from N Africa and the Middle East walking around. I have usually felt safe enough, but I understand some people might not like the area. I come from Chicago, so this neighborhood is actually childsplay compared to some of ours back home. There don't seem to gun-slinging bang bangers here, but some of the young men milling about do look like they are casing tourists to pick pocket. Frankly I feel a little more vulnerable walking around Las Ramblas. You really are a walking theft target there.

Having said all of that, the metro station is literally 10 steps from the front door of this hotel. This is a very convenient base of operation for tourism in Barcelona. And, the rooms are quite nice by "American standards."

Room Tip: If you smoke ask for a room with a terrace so you can smoke outside. Smoking is not permitted in any...

Thank you for your review! Thanks for your positive comments about our hotel. Regarding the area where we are located as you said we are in the edge of a neighborhood that is called Raval. We are not in Raval and it is easy to move anywhere in the city without putting a step in that neighborhood. You can take metro just in front of us, you can walk to Las Ramblas avoiding it through street Nou de la Rambla, there's no really need to visit it although it is next to us. If you have any doubt just ask for information at the front desk once your are here. Anyway it is not a bad neighborhood, and I assume it has nothing to do with the ones you comment of your city, especially because in Raval there are no guns. If I were a tourist in Barcelona I wouldn't be scared to walk around the city, I just would take care with my belongings because of the pickpockets, but as in every big city you visit in Europe, nothing worse than it. When you are visiting a city as a tourist you have to be aware of some things, but you have to enjoy your visit to that city, you cannot be scared because if you are scared you do not enjoy your time.

Stayed at the Hotel for four nights. In our travels, This hotel was definitely the easiest to get to from the airport. Airport Express to Espanya and Metro to Paral.lel station, which is right outside the Hotel's front door. The check in was easy, conceirge very helpful, went out of their way to make us comfortable and guide us through the local streets. Walked to La Rambla, Picasso Museum, Waterfront. Access to Montjuic is also from the Paral.lel metro station; very convenient to get to the mountain and the Castle. Being on the main street, the outside noise could be bothersome.

Room Tip: Find a way to get around the outside noise, whether it is a room away from Avda Paral.lel, or higher...

This is a great hotel...Located within walking distance of La Rambla and right next to metro. We were able to get everywhere in a short amount of time Very clean and helpful friendly staff. Free Breakfast was basic but it did the job every morning. Rooms were smaller then we were use to but very clean. Most of the other reivews were very help in selecting this hotel.

This Hotel provides a very good base to discover Barcelona from, very close to Metro and a short 10 minute walk to the Harbour and tourist bus stop. The Hotel is very modern and comfortable. The staff were very good and professional. The staff on the reception were most helpful and knowledgeable. Breakfast was very good and we ate in the resturant one evening, and this meal was superb. The cleanliness of the hotel was beyond question and room service completed an excellent job.

Very friendly and helpful, lovely hotel, very clean and modern. The only negative thing I can say about the hotel was that there was no tea and coffee making facilities in the room, so had to order room sevice, which always arrived in about 5 min but you had to pay for it!!

Thanks for your comments! Thank you for your review, allow me to apologize for the lack of tea/coffe making facilities, but we know it may be a matter of culture. Here in Barcelona it is not usual to have this in the hotel rooms and it is strange if you find a hotel in Barcelona that offers this. We know it is usual to be found when you travel to UK or Northern Europe, but in Spain it is not usual. In the other hand we have a lot of complimentary facilities that use to be payable in UK and Northern Europe, such as safety deposit box, gym, WIFI...

This is a nice business-class hotel, very comfortable and with free Internet. The front desk staff were most helpful and even room service wasn't expensive. We have a very enjoyable stay. The cooked breakfast could have been better but the cold was fine.

Room Tip: None of the rooms have a great view - but then you should be out walking the city!
