Stayed at Le Meridien Barcelona due to its location and being part of Starwood Hotels. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful (including concierges: Ricardo and Lorena, and assistant general manager, Walter). The hotel had a lovely tradition of saying goodbye to each day at 8 PM in the lobby with a glass of Cava for all of their guests. Other special touches included being invited to a wonderful Friday Paella lunch and cooking demonstration at their CentOnze restaurant.
The hotel rooms are well appointed and we enjoyed an extended stay. The only problem which prevents me from giving the hotel an "excellent" rating is their horrendous internet service. After speaking to management, I learned that the hotel will be changing their internet service provider in due course. However, given that the problem angers dozens guests daily (it is a constant topic of conversation among people in the lobby). It is simply not feasible to do any serious business functions while staying there. Again, hotel and staff are great (!), internet leaves a lot to be desired.
