A friend of ours knew the chef/owner, so we had high hopes of having an nice evening, and wow. just wow. one of my favorite memories of our trip to barcelona was this otherwise simple evening because of xavi's warmth and passion about his food and barcelona. It's a small restaurant with no outdoor seating in barconleta, so I highly recommend a walk along the beach before or after a meal here. don't be fooled by the simplicity in design. The food here is phenomenal. so is the wine. And mostly, the people.
Xavi was warm, lovely, and truly cares about his food. we took his recommendations and let him pick out our cava. It was a quiet sunday so he brought out an extra artichoke dish and at the end of the meal shared some muscat as we discussed Catalonia independence.
I highly recommended his seafood croquettes. And the artichoke dish. and the paella. And well everything. He has a daily menu of what's fresh. And let him pick the wine for you. You can't go wrong. I barely cared about the price because we had such a lovely time but from what i do recall you could have easily eaten there for about 25 euros a piece (w/ wine/tip/etc)
