Firstly the location is perfect. It's hidden away in a prime location.Hidden being the operative word.No signage at all.Just a brown door. But you have to dig to find gems and this place has two.Pablo and Anna who go out of the way to assist. The rooms are clean and Breakfast is very nice.Had a great couple of days there thanks for everything.Pablo's map with suggestions was perfect.lovely City have to go back sometime.....No prizes for guessing where I will be staying....

We had a great stay at Balcon del Born! The host, Ana, gave us a lot of help finding tickets for the Flamenco and Opera show for my 30th birthday, and she knew exactly where to go if we wanted to find something in particular in the Born area or in Barcelona in general.

The room was just perfect. They always have beers, water, tea, coffee and more accessible in the fridge. The breakfast was super lovely. It contains a lot of different things (bread, different types of very good cereals, two types of cheese, yoghurt, tea, coffee, different types of jam, two different fresh juices, croissants, and I don't know what else), that you can pick yourself from a table. The benefit of this is that if you like something a bit more than something else, you can take more of it, and you do not feel forced to finish something that you don't like since someone put it on your plate ;) I really liked the breakfast.

The Born district is gentrified but here are still many cosy narrow streets that you can find that are very nice. We recommend Pim Pam Burger -- the best burger in Barcelona -- for when you are tired of tapas. This place was a bit difficult to find (google maps gave us the wrong location; these small streets are a bit confusing). Look at the address in a veeeeery detailed map and you'll find this tiny tiny street where this place is. The Born area is also a bit touristy, but not at all like las Ramblas or the most touristy areas. We enjoyed ourselves a lot :)

Thank you Ana!

Can't say enough about our stay at El Balcon del Born. The facilities were very clean and the breakfast was presented beautifully. Especially liked taking our breakfast on the balcony overlooking a lovely Plaza. Don't be worried about the shared bath it was never a problem. We had difficulties reserving our tickets for Sacrada Familia from home and Pablo was kind enough to secure these tickets for us in advance thus avoiding the long lines. There are no signs for the B and B, but we just asked one of the restaurant waiters near by and they directed us to the correct door.

We can only echo the comments made by previous reviewers - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and couldn't fault El Balcon del Born. Just wanted to add our own example of Pablo's kindness and willingness to go the extra mile.....The heavens opened as we were about to leave for the airport yesterday but Pablo insisted on coming with us to carry our bags and hail a taxi on our behalf, whilst we sheltered from the rain in the foyer. Despite a taxi strike, after about 15 minutes he managed to locate one for us - getting soaked in the process. First class service!

Pablo is the best host ever, we can't ask for more! Pablo prepared our arrival carefully, provided us with great info o restaurants and attraction sites without us even asking. I accidentally broke the window and he refused to take any money from us and just fixed as soon as he can. Pablo
Is the best host ever! LOok no more, he is the one! The location, the neighborhood, the ambience, the room, the old feel AND the fridge is filled with beer and champagne for a low cost !!

After reading the reviews and looking at the photos here in TripAdvisor my boyfriend and I decided to pick this B&B. We never regret choosing this place. The place is clean, bed is comfortable, the room is nice and cozy. I was a bit worried at first about the bathroom since it is a shared one but turned out there's nothing to worry about. The breakfast is just what we need, juices, coffee, cereals, bread, fruits, etc. Pablo is very helpful in giving us places to visit and eat. In fact, we went to this modern tapas place he showed us and we love it there! The B&B is close to a plaza and it could be really noisy at night but it wasn't a problem for us as we both are heavy sleepers. Even so, it still won't be a problem as the B&B has ear plugs available if you need them. Overall, I had a great stay and will definitely stay with them again.

I really enjoyed my stay there. Paolo, Ana and the team were very accommodating and kind. You also feel secure there. Would definitely return to this place. Thank you for a wonderful time. Only regret was that my stay was too short.
