“Great Stay!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2013

I chose this hotel based on the reviews on trip advisor. We were not disappointed. Nice modern, clean, comfortable. Staff speaks English and are extremely helpful in recommending restaurants and how to get around town. Ths was our first visit to Spain. My only complaints...no coffee maker in the rooms and I still give it 5 star. Make sure you request a room with the city view. We got a view of another buildings roof and my adult children got a balcony with great views of city center. We did not spend much time in the room so I am sure our room was quieter because the streets were very busy. This hotel is located near everything. We will spend 3 nights before we board a cruise and one night before we leave for the US next week.

Room Tip: Ask for room overlooking the city center.

Enjoyed 3 nights in this wonderful hotel. Took two teenage boys with us, they had there own room, and not one tiny complaint came from their lips. Staff friendly, rooms very clean and comfortable. AC was a welcome advantage following the heat of the city. Lots to see and do in the nearby area, drinks, tapas and even a small supermarket just opposite.
Only small point of note was the lack of coffee making items in the room.

Just spend 4 nights in the hotel and would give it a great thumbs up. The location is great as your positioned within good walking distance of Las Ramblas, shopping, lovely restaurants etc...we had a room with a balcony and this was a real bonus. Being in the heart of Barcelona yet having a bit of privacy which can be hard to find! The room was spacious clean, comfy bed, brilliant bathroom facilities. I had a meal in the restaurant and found it lovely. I would really recommend this hotel as a great central location - if you can get a balcony, go for it. Its just a great addition for a city holiday.

Room Tip: If you can spend that little extra target the Jnr suites.

Hotel was lovely but room very small with no tea n coffee facilities. I would stay here again as Starbucks n Haagen Dazs r close by to bring back a tea. Close to where d action is in city but not directly in it which was good.

Very nice and modern hotel between Paseo de Gracia and Rambla Catalunya.
Spacious and modern room, nice bathroom and well equipped.
Friendly staff.

The only negative point is that the Hotel charges almost Euros 20,= for a very standard breakfast.
Better take your breakfast elsewhere because this is a rip off.

Dear guest,

thank you very much for your comments and your stay with us.

I´m so sorry if you find our breakfast a very standard breakfast.. we offer different types of fruit juices, orange, peach, apple, six kinds of breads, pastries, croissants, jams of different fruits, yogurts of various types, ham, several types of cheese, nespresso coffee, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, bacon, even cava. In any case, your comment is useful to improve the breakfast..

I hope to see you again in the next future

Best regards

We stayed here for three nights in August. The hotel is located in a lovely quiet area close to many restaurants and great shopping. The rooms were small but the beds were very comfortable and the room was very quiet even though it faced the street. Breakfast had a good selection of everything you would need. There was a free to use laptop in the lobby which came in very useful. They were kind enough to allow us a late check out as we were flying out at night.
We would gladly return to this hotel.

We stayed at Hotel Alexandria two nights prior to taking our cruise at the beginning of July, and then one more night after our cruise, before returning home. The location is perfect, about a 15-20 minute walk north of Las Ramblas, away from the touristy area and is in a safe neighborhood. Near many restaurants (highly recommend Cerverceria Catalana near the hotel), close to Hop on, Hop off bus stop and is in walking distance of sights and shopping. Our accomodations were very good, we had requested a quiet room and were given exactly that. On the 8th floor in the back. Being jetlagged, this was excellent especially for our first night. Room and bathroom were very clean and had all the amenities required. Breakfast was included in our fare - this too was excellent - plenty of choice, eggs, meats, cheese, fresh fruit, a variety of breads and pastries as well as different coffees, teas and juices. Whether we were there at 7:30 or 9:30, it was always fresh and plentiful. Front desk staff was professional, kind, extremely helpful, efficient and very customer service oriented. For our last night in Barcelona, we were assigned a different room, still on the 8th floor. Unfortunately, the air conditioning was not working properly which made it a very uncomfortable night. Even though we reported it, it still wasn't fixed and we imagine it must have been a bigger problem. Notwithstanding this, we would definitely return to Hotel Alexandria and certainly recommend it.
