“great view from plaza facing room”
Reviewed February 16, 2013

well located just 20 minutes from the airport. The subway system stop is just outside the hotel. In a brisk 30 minute walk you can reach the Ramlas. The room facing the Plaza was worth the additional surchage. Expensive breakfast surcharge. Staff were nice and friendly. Would probably stay here again.

Room Tip: pay a little more and stay at the Plaza facing rooms

We booked a junior suite which was located on the 7th Floor, an excellent space with free wi-fi, large bathroom with corner whirlpool bath and hydro shower with the best array of freebies as well as bathrobes and slippers. The terrace had sun loungers AND a table and chairs, amazing views, especially of Mont Juic, and no-one to overlook us. The very large bed was really comfortable and came with a choice of pillows. In addition the lounge had a sofa and two upholstered recliners with footstools, very good when you've been walking for most of the day, a large flat screen TV, a CD player, minibar, complimentary tea and coffee making facilities and plenty of space-really what more could you want....
This is a beautifully kept, well restored hotel, very clean, and nothing was too much trouble for the reception staff or indeed any of the other staff. Excellent breakfast with lots of choice. The location being 100 metres from PLACA CATALUNYA and 500 metres from the RAMBLAS was superb and right around the corner from the Metro. However it wasn't a noisy location, being just down the side street meant that it was remarkably quiet. The small outdoor pool and terrace area was also well screened and well set out.
We were very lucky with the weather, 16 degrees in February, and we would both agree that this is one of the most memorable breaks we’ve had. I have to add that this was a last minute deal with a very healthy reduction in price. My husband and I would thoroughly recommend CPC and will definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Choose a room with a balcony or a terrace facing the side road. Look out for a last minute bargain...

We booked 2 double rooms without breakfast for 3 persons, the prices were high because we went in September 2011.
The location was the best, near to almost everything in the area, La Rambla, El Corte Ingles departmental stores, restaurants, and bus stations!
The furniture is kind of old, but the rooms were well cleaned.

I'd totally recommend this hotel if you spend your day out of hotel and don't seek luxurious experience.

Room was very hot and air conditioner not effective. Front counter staff unhelpful. Great location but no parking for guests staying less than 2 nights so cost an extra forty seven euro to park the car.

We spent 3 nights there. The hotel is clean and have a friendly, helpful staff. The best part is that it is so convienient to the train, shopping, a nearby park and the "Hop on, hop off" tour bus. The train station has american fast food available, as both of us did not really enjoy spanish food. There are a couple of nearby spanish restaurants that were pretty good. However, if you are a early evening eater, nearly all restaurants don't open for the evening (dinner) until about 8pm. This is a european thing, so it's better to get a late afternoon meal before they close for lunch. But loved the hotel and would stay there again if we go back.

Room Tip: The back part of the hotel overlooks a park, the front overlooks the train station. So if you want...

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights during Decembr 2012, just before Christmas. In general we highly recommend and we're very happy we picked this hotel.
PROS:
* Location is great, just a few steps from La Rambla, so we could just stop by anytime to rest or take a coat. Also a few steps from Metro, buses, shopping, etc.
* Room was very nice and cozy. A good size double bed, clean and comfy bathroom, free WiFi, free safe.
* Staff were very nice and helpfull, speaking good english.
* Breakfast was rich and satisfying, included eggs, pasties, fruits, sweets and more. Beyond our expectation.
CONS:
* We have known a better mattress.
* Rear side view. An extra payment (~18 euro) is charged for having a front side room (the ones with the lovely balcony).
