“best vacation in Barcelona”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2012

We spent our 30s wedding anniversary in this hotel for 3 nights, 4 days. we were very well received by a professional staff, we arrived early we couldn't check in, but we didn't have a problem where to put our luggage, they offered to keep them in a store room. The place is in the middle of the city, the metro, buses, taxis even aerobus and tourist bus over max 100m. the breakfast was great, the room was clean. I loved the stay in this Hotel and especially in Barcelona, i wished i stayed more...
Be careful, if you go to Barcelona and you don't visit Park Guell, Sagrada Familia, the Cathedral, St Josep bokeria, Museum of Picasso..... best sites ever seen...

Room Tip: we were on the second floor, the room was quiet, we did not hear any noise. Even A/Cs were quiet, we...

This place does not deserve its current ratings. The room was clean, bed comfortable and reception staff very good. It is well located along with heaps of other Barcelona hotels. That is where the plus ends. We stayed for 8 nights in September. The hotel is noisy. Our room was near the lifts which squeaked all day and night as they went up and down, the doors to each room have to be slammed to close them, the noise from this occurs day and night with people coming and going and water rushing through pipes from bath rooms above us was loud and clear next to the bed head. The air conditioning leaked with pools of water on the floor. This took 4 days to fix. It must have been an ongoing problem as the ceiling was close to collapsing. The swimming pool is really a big plunge pool making it impractical for swimming, it was also so heavily dosed with chemicals I was reluctant to put my head under., Breakfast at nearly 20 euro each was outrageous. Plus they charged us 300 euro for the last night because of a festival that was about to start. We travelled for 5 weeks in Spain. This was by far the most expensive and worst place we stayed in. Finally [this is not the hotels fault] car parking in the local public car park was 50 euro a day which is expensive, so ditch the car if you do not want to pay this sort of expense

My husband stayed at this terrible hotel in October 2012. First of all he got a small room with no window and when he complained they told he will get a better room, but it was even worse - smaller and still no window!!!
He is a director on high level and not used to be treated this way - no one is!
During his stay we had our Wedding Anniversary and I left him a message by e-mailing the reception to take flowers and a note to him - they did not do it! His company will never use this hotel again.

Room Tip: Avoid this hotel!

Stayed here for 4 nights with my mum for a girlie city break.
Perfect location - did not use public transport at all except for airport bus which stops across the plaza from the hotel.
I had booked a standard room and was a little apprehensive about size view etc after reading reviews but we were very pleasantly surprised.
The twin beds were close together but spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The bathroom was off an entrance hallway and there was a seating area with a lovely view of the pool at the other side of the room - these features added a spacious feeling to the room.
We stayed in room 201 - it looks like there may be 2 sides to the hotel - I'm not sure if we were in the more modern part but all communal areas and the room were immaculate.
There was a fridge, reasonable wardrobe space and a safe but no tea / coffee making facilities.
The breakfast was excellent with a substantial selection of juices, fruit, bread, cheeses, cold meats, cakes, pancakes and a hot buffet. There was a good choice of tea and coffee and even champagne for bucks fizz!
We did not eat in th restaurant as there are so many other places to chose from close to the hotel.
The staff were professional and helpful at all times but not over the top.
We were very vigilant regarding pickpockets etc but thakfully encoutered no problems and the hotel is in a sfae location for two females on their own.
Only downside I could mention is that the hotel room doors and the wooden floors did cause a little noise

Room Tip: 201 was perfect

Stayed there for a weekend (a rainy one). Staff were helpful (not all of the them though). Room service takes forever; you basically have time to go down to the closest restaurant, order, come back, eat and you still wouldn't be delivered your order by the hotel.
Rooms are clean, bathrooms a bit old style with the plastic shower curtains.
Location is PERFECT !

Room Tip: Avoid rooms with a view on the pool.
