“Great location near La Rambla”
Reviewed August 10, 2012

The hotel is located in Placa Catalunya right at the top of La Rambla. It is a 3-star hotel and is quite cheap compared to the other hotels in the area. It doesn't seem like a lot of people know about this place either, since I booked last minute and there was still availability. Walking down La Rambla from the hotel is of course very convenient, but almost every other major attraction is also within walking distance or a short and cheap taxi ride away. The hotel staff seemed coldly cordial and didn't really do anything beyond their duties of checking us in and out. They didn't offer a city map or give recommendations on tourist attractions and restaurants. The room was excellent though, and I was surprised at how spacious it was. We had a triple room which was split up into an area with a double bed and a large sitting area with a sofa bed. The washroom was huge, and the bathtub and toilet were a step up from the sink. Everything seemed clean and toiletries were included. The breakfast was pretty good and consisted of a large variety of foods like cold cut meats, cheeses, cereals, hot foods (scrambled eggs, sausages, mushrooms), pastries, breads, fruits, juices/coffee. It was especially convenient since we had to catch a plane and didn't have time to find breakfast elsewhere. This hotel is not exactly luxurious, but it is decent and the location is very convenient. It's great for short-term stay, but I might not choose to stay here if I were in Barcelona for an extended vacation.

I was very happy with this hotel. We arrived about 10 in the morning to check in after a cruise. The room was not ready because the check out time was 12. We went for a walk and when we came back the room was ready by about 12:30. The included breakfast was great. We had a family room at the back of the hotel which was quiet and spacious and the air conditioning worked well. The marble bathroom was well set out and good amenities were provided. There was slight leakage around the shower but nothing too bad. There was also free wifi and when we ordered concert tickets over the internet, the reception printed the order out for us free of charge.
The location is great as mentioned in other reviews. There was also abundance of taxis. When we checked out at 5 in the morning to catch a plane, we had a take away breakfast and got a taxi immediately.

this hotel is in a great location to see barcelona....located a few hundred metres from Los Ramblos...the position couldnt be better.
easy to find from the airport and only a 10 euro taxi ride to Barcelona sants railway station.
The hotel has had a makeover and is clean and tidy.
The welcome was warm and generous and effortless.
the room was large and the bed generous in size..we had flown 14 plus hours from singapore so it was nice to find aplace that met our expectations.
a good stopover hotel

The hotel is in a good location for metros and top end of La Rambla street. Hotel itself is very average. The staff on reception and in the breakfast room were so rude, abrupt and unhelpful! We didn't ask for any local information or help as when we attempted this they gave one word answers and looked at us like we'd interrupted them solving world peace on their computer screen! even booking a return taxi was too much for them!
Don't both asking the breakfast staff for more bread when they run out after an hour of being open - they clearly have one loaf and once this is gone, tuf! same as all the other items which were mildly warm at best.
The rooms need a mirror in the living space, the only one is in the bathroom. There's no clock, no helpful room instructions for air con, tv, wifi, local area info nothing! one socket in the living area and one by the front door...odd! the rooms are very noisey from other guests - you can hear every toilet flush, doors open and close and conversations in the corridor! the only thing we couldn't hear was the traffic - phew!
We had a twin room and to say the beds were single and tiny is an understatement! I nearly fell out of bed several times just turning over! and no, I'm not fat! :-p
Barcelona is a vast city so we explored for long hours, a decent nights sleep would have been nice. The reception staff saying hello or goodbye would be pushing it!
Wouldn't stay here again.

Ideally situated for sightseeing and beach. We found the hotel clean and comfortable for a three night break. The reception staff were pleasant and the breakfast adequate - certainly nothing to complain about.
Airport bus to Placa de Catalunya is only 5.65 euros (just outside arrivals) and you will find Hotel Atlantis within walking distance.
Would definitely return again for short break.
If flying 'Easyjet' to El Prat for first time, please note that the departures are from Terminal 2 'C' (not the Terminal 2 bus stop drop off) and you should allow time to walk there.

Stayed on the 22nd June post cruise, hotel is in an excellent location for easy access for transportation around the city. Upon arrival informed our room was not ready but could leave cases in a room set out for this purpose the 2 gentlemen on reception were more than helpful and friendly and dealt with any query that i had, did the Ho-Ho city tour then went back to the hotel and checked in room large and airy and good facilities now comes the TLC decor dark of dark wood and room needs a lighter colour on wall also bathroom fittings need up dating, room over looked the main street but was not aware of any noise and one of the best nights sleep we've had for a while, breakfast resonable but the area set aside needs to be bigger. Tried the free wi-fi could not connect the female receptionist about as much use as a chocolate fireguard and on check out tried to charge us for use of the minibar and making phone calls why would i do this when she knew i had a mobile phone. Might possibily use this hotel again but for the reason i stated above. Saying that for the price we paid it was cheaper than some Travelodges or Premier Inns.
