“Great Find”

The Condado Hotel was in a neighborhood outside of a lot of the touristy locations. The taxis around the city were very cheap though. It is surrounded by many restaurants, cafes, and other affordable dining options. The room was very clean and the air conditioning worked amazingly well. There was also free wifi that worked well. It was a very nice 3 star hotel. There is a dance club across the street that got a little noisy around 4-6 am. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful in any questions we had and called a cab for us for an early flight. We did not try the breakfast. There are some water bottles available at the end of the hallway.

Room Tip: Be aware that the nightlife around the hotel starts around midnight, so if you are a light sleeper b...

After much research we chose this hotel to stay in for a few days before our cruise. It was the first time we had stayed in Europe and were a little nervous, but I would recommend this hotel to someone.
Pros:
-great breakfast
-decent wifi
-good price
-nice location, about a 20min walk from Catalunya and right off Av Diagonal (we didn't notice any noise from the bars)
-very nice staff, all of whom spoke excellent English
Cons:
-we had two twin beds pushed together, which was a little annoying
-it was a small room with a rather boring contemporary design. This wasn't too big of a deal for us though.
-there was no light in the shower, although the sink light illuminated it enough.

Overall not a bad hotel and definitely worth considering.

This hotel was exactly what we needed. It was a great location for food and transportation. There is an active party scene after hours so be prepared but if you pull the drapes and keep the windows shut it was quiet in our room. If you like to party then even better! The doors roll up to a very different scene in the after hours. Everything was clean and service was great. They checked us in early after an overnight flight. The beds were not super comfy and that was the only complaint. The shower was awesome and the water pressure was great. Would stay here again.

We expected something smaller but this very nice and updated room was a pleasant surprise. Although it had two twin beds (as most of other European hotels) they were already pushed together for us. The front desk staff were all very nice, and spoke English.

Our room featured a balcony overlooking Aribau and was only a couple of blocks off Diagonal, the main thoroughfare. A breakfast buffet is available for 12 Euros (a bit much), but you can also get a cup of coffee for about 2 Euros to get you started, and then you can stop by any of the many cafes along the street for a lighter and more reasonably priced breakfast of local fare.

Please note that Wi-Fi is NOT available in the rooms, and so remember to bring a CAT-5 cable with you, but Wi-Fi is available in the lobby area, as well as two desktop computers. To their credit, they have installed double-doors to the balcony that eliminates virtually all external street noise.

We walked from the hotel all the way to the Passeig de Gràcia (at the city's center), which took about 30 minutes. But most evenings we simply dined near the plaza and took a taxi back to the hotel after enjoying a bottle of wine.

While not as luxurious, or even as up-scaled as other accommodations, I found it to be a very fair deal for Barcelona.

The room was great and very clean. The bed was comfortable the bathroom was spacious and lovely. The only irritation was getting help from the front desk. Reception was a little impatient with Americans and our rough Spanish. There are a lot of nice restaurants in the area and getting to public transportation was about a 10 min. walk.

We spent three nights in this hotel. The room was fairly small but typical of European hotels. The room was quiet and we slept well. Too dark for reading though. We liked the large well lit bathroom. It was convenient to get around from there. We didn't try their breakfast but enjoyed the Patron Restaurant for breakfast, just a block away, as it cost less and had good food as well as sandwiches to take away. The staff was helpful and we appreciated the free water bottles. They kept our luggage til check in time as we arrived at 10:00 AM, so we could sight see til later.

My daughter and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. From the airport we took a taxi which was cost around 27 euros. I did try to figure out the public transportation route, but perhaps it was just too early in the morning for me to do so. We found the location to be perfect. Typically, I like to be right in the middle of things, so choosing a hotel that was a bit out side of the city center was concerning. However, the crowds in and around Las Ramblas are so huge, that in this case, coming to the hotel was like a tiny oasis. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel and a metro only a block or so as well. We did use the bus once from here and walked everywhere else. Las Ramblas was a 10 minute walk as was Sagrada Familia. We walked to the beach from here and all of the other attractions. Coming back at the end of the day with the free water bottles was very, very much appreciated. The 24 hour bakery was around the block was fantastic and an added bonus was a Starbucks right across the street from the bakery. Also across the street on the other side was a supermarket. Our room was in a corner with a door leading to the balcony as well as a window that looked on to the balcony -what a treat this was. We so enjoyed sitting out there every day. We were on the 7th floor and on the weekend we could still hear street noise from the nightlife below, but in no way was it "sketchy" or did I feel like I was going to run into trouble walking around at night. Beds were firm but comfortable, most of all the room was very clean. The bathroom was very modern. Yes, the shower did have a glass door, but unless you were standing right at the sink, you would not be able to see in to the person taking a shower. WiFi worked perfectly in our room and was free of charge. The front desk staff was charming and welcoming. I consider myself a very picky hotel guest, but I could have had a better experience. We did not try the breakfast since the bakery was so close.
