A budget friendly hotel that covers all its bases. Stayed with my adult daughter. Great location, clean, fully updated, efficient, comfortable, responsive customer service, English speaking desk and dining room, complete breakfast buffet with eggs, pastries, fresh fruits, meats, cereal, juices and yogurt -- the add-on price well worth it. Nice little courtyard off the dining room, free wi-fi throughout the hotel, and complementary bottled water stocked in lobby wet bar. Would definitely book again.

Room Tip: Room 503 was good on all counts, can't speak for the other rooms. Elevator service was fast.

The hotel is nice, the receptionists on the other hand not welcoming. Once we got to the room the smell put us off. We opened the windows and called the reception to change rooms, but they weren't able to change. The room apart from the smell was nice.

Dear Valued, Thank you for your review which will be very helpful to improve our service.

To be honest, I do not understand very well your review as housekeeping procedures are really stricts. However, I will advise Housekeeping manager to review all of them if necessary.

In the meantime, could you please e-mail me (please check our general email in the header of this website) your date arrival & number of room for a better improvement.

Please do not hesitate contact me for further information about this incidence. I am very sorry and hope you give us another chance to meet completely your expectations.

I hope be of better assistance in your next visit to Barcelona, kind regards, Ignacio Casellas

The hotel is in the city about a 25 minute walk from the centre. The room was a little tired but never the less very good. Despite being very busy outside the room was well soundproofed and we slept well. The bed was firm and comfortable and the TV and Wi-Fi was good. Worth noting is that I couldn't get the wired LAN to work at all but the Wi-Fi had a solid strong signal. We didn't eat in the hotel but found the service levels very good indeed. the reception staff were very helpful to the extent that they were happy for us to use their left luggage facility 5 days after checking out (we had returned to Barcelona for the day and were waiting for a flight out). I would stay again without a doubt. For a good bar try the Meatpacker Bistro Red Lips bar just round the corner.

Room Tip: Save the legs, a taxi to the city centre is less than 5 Euro.

This was our first trip to Barcelona and we stayed four nights. We travelled everywhere by Metro having bought T10 ticket. The nearest Metro station is Gracia which is less than a ten minute walk away. (The station is being refurbished and care is needed because there are two entrances, one for each direction of travel). There are plenty of cafes and bars nearby but if you want a nice restaurant with a good menu, space and tables with tablecloths these are not plentiful in the district.

We paid extra for a better room with a balcony although the weather was too cold to use this much. The room itself was smaller than we expected and probably not really worth the extra paid. The standard of cleanliness was faultless and the bathroom was cleaned very well each day although the toilet paper was not replenished and we had to 'steal' some from the toilets in the lobby. As others have noted, the double bed was actually two single beds pushed together. There was just about enough hanging space but a hook on the inside of the bathroom door would have been nice for dressing gowns. There is a very usefully sized electronically coded safe in one of the cupboards and satellite TV in the room but the only English langauge channels are BBC World and CNN. Not a particular problem as we didn't go the Barcelona to watch TV.

We appreciated the free water from the minibar and the free wi-fi which worked well. There are two computers in the lobby with a printer where you can print prepaid tickets and check in on line etc.

Our room rate included breakfast which we thought was good. Normal continental breakfast but with some hot food if you wanted. The toaster is incredibly slow. The range of cheeses and cooked meats excellent.

Our biggest gripe was the inability to get a tea or coffee other than at breakfast. In the UK, Australia and the Americas you get free tea and coffee in the rooms anywhere you stay and while I know this is less comon in Europe it is something that we have become used to having. If not in the rooms, the very comfortable lobby is an ideal place and we wondered why the management had not thought of locating a coffee machine there (there is a vending machine from which you can buy a cold drink).

Would we stay there again? Possibly, just because of the friendly, helpful staff and the cleanliness but we would want a better deal than we got this time.

Dear Sirs, Thank you for your recent stay with us and your time reviewing your experience.

Your review will help future visitors in terms of metro station distance for instance. However, I have to say within few only minutes walking distance there are many restaurants (due to rules of this forum I can not mention name & adresses). Feel free to ask suggestions to the Front Desk staff or check TA restaurants ranking near us.

Let me explain you a couple of things please:

Should you need any requirements not replaced by our staff, please do nto hesitatecontact any Supervisor (Housekeeping or Front Desk) to ask it. No problem at all to replace it or deliver double than usual if necessary.

In addition, we will take actions to improve our toaster speed and we will check options to offer kettle services upon request. Give us some time to sort it out.

Once again, thank you for your review. It will help us improving our service. Kind regards, Ignacio Casellas

Modern, Comfortable, Stylish. In the extension of Barcelona you are outside of the hustle and bustle of the old town/gothic area (7/8 euro cab, 2 euro bus) but close to local amenities.

The hotel itself is clean, tasteful, contemporary and the staff are polite, helpful and well presented. Rooms are a good size with an open plan bedroom and sink area with a seperate bathroom. Wooden/Tiled floors throughout, marble worktops and all the other amenities you expect from a hotel like a Sheraton. (Although the beds at a Sheraton are superior)

Free wifi and bottled water at the hotel are a massive plus.
Opposite side of the road are a Flamenco dinner/dance show and a bar that serves a great light breakfast, coffee and juice for €2.50 although the hotel has a very exquisite breakfast of their own.

Room Tip: There are balcony views and interior views. You are staying in the extension area of Barcelona so do...

In a good (safe) location (30 min walk to Plaza Catalunya - maybe we walk slow), room for 2 on the 5th flr facing the street - clean, double windows (to cut the noise?) we could hear traffic but it was a low hum, same as the air con unit. Take note - the street comes alive on Friday/Sat night, be prepared for noise (louder hum from 2 am on and way cool that the cleaners are out 8 am!). It is also one of the few hotel bathrooms that have extra hooks to hang your towels and/or bathrobes. Also nice that there were bottle water in the hallway of each floor.

Wonderful front desk - it was just so comfortable when we walked in and they were all so helpful (and patient) with all our queries. The room key is large - hard to lose and it must be inserted in to a switch in the room to power on air con, lights, etc. Brilliant for those who forget to turn off the lights. Plenty of hot water and a fairly modern decor. Walls are thin (you can hear your neighbours), and tv has limited english speaking channels (CNN, BBC and children's channel) but I wasn't expecting quiet when we planned this trip and tv's not high on our list (kept it off most of the time). WiFi works but is slow in room - much quicker in lobby.

The hotel website has a very good description of how to get there. Here are a few tips to make it even easier by bus from the airport - we found the Aerobus easily. You can purchase tickets on the bus (cash, have small bills (no larger than 20), driver will give change) or at the ticketing machine 6.95 euro, by credit card. When the bus stops at the Plaza Catalunda, you catch bus 58 ($2 euros) on the same block but towards the front of the block. Seriously, we walked around the plaza before we clued in. Call us jet lagged... Tip 2, when you arrive at Aribau/Avenue Diagonal, the hotel is not exactly across the stop, when you get off the bus, look across the street and head right. We looked at bldg #s on the side the bus stopped at and they got smaller going left, so we went left (hotel number is 201). Never did find 201 Aribau until we turned around and walked back and then pass the bus stop. We've figured out that unlike at home, the numbers do not correspond across the street - ie what's on this side 123, 125 does not mean 121, 124 is on the opposite side! Love it.

I would recommend and I would stay here again.

Dear guests, Thank you for your time reviewing your experience with us.

Your review is very useful in terms of tips (how to reach the hotel from airport, short short wailing from closest bus stop,....) for future visitors.

Regarding numbers in street, kindly note: Even numbers on one side of the street and odd numbers on the opposite side. This is common in Spain.

Once again, thnak you for visiting us and hope to had an enjoyable stay in our city. Kind regards, Ignacio Casellas
