This was our first time in Spain (couple, no kids). We pretty much walked everywhere! Location is great, very close to La Rambla, Sagrada Familia Basilica and Barceloneta (marina area). Concierge and bell staff always friendly and patient! Alex, the bartender at the lobby bar was amazing - very attentive, very creative with offering different drink options based on our moods :)

We would definitely stay here again if we return to Barcelona.

This hotel has very nice rooms with the famous Marriott beds. Location very very good and nearby the hotspots in Barcelona. Don't miss the rooftop terrace. The hotel is on walking distance to the world famous Ramblas and the Catalunya Square? Very good place to stay for business or leisure.

After spending three nights at the Arts Hotel (Ritz-Carlton) near the beach and relatively close to what my wife and I wanted to do during our trip to Barcelona, we needed to switch hotels and chose the Renaissance Barcelona. At first, we knew we had a good location, but didn't know much of what to expect because it is located directly in the city.

Our hotel choice didn't let us down - even after the Arts Hotel. OK, it's not the luxury you experience at the Arts Hotel, but it is without a doubt a terrific hotel, very comfortable, fantastic staff, and close to everything - literally.

The excercise facility was in excellent condition, the restaurant for breakfast and the bar for a night cap - also very good!

The room was great and the hospitality outstanding. What else could I say? We will choose this hotel again when returning to Barcelona.

I could easily write tomes of praise for this jewel of a hotel in such a great location in Barcelona. The room was beautiful with a lovely view of the Mediterranean. The restaurant was great with a beautiful breakfast buffet. The roof top terrace provided a phenomenal view of the city.
But most of all.... the staff was EXTRAORDINARY.. especially Luis. His welcome made for a perfect beginning of a lovely stay in Barcelona. Both he and Mayca are to be commended on giving such excellent and personal service. I would HIGHLY recommend this jewel of a hotel.

I've stayed here on numerous occasions for work, but can't fault it since it was renamed the renaissance and refreshed in the last 2years. Before it was a little too corporate.

Rooms are small, but comfortable with uk tv... Useful if your stuck in the city on your own.

Hotel bar makes a mean cocktail, and the location is great for shops, the ramblas, and the guadi building.

A top quality hotel in the very centre of Barcelona in walking distance of everything.
Hotel looks to be very newly renovated (Apr 2013) very tastefully.
The hotel holds the high standard as could be expected of a Renaissance hotel.
I especially liked the Roof Top terrace/bar and the breakfast buffet. On the other hand I found the room (exclusive) to be a little on the small side. Especially the toilet/bathroom.
Considering the standard we got a great deal on a weekend get-away. I would be happy to return next time in Barcelona

Room Tip: Upgrade to larger room if possible - rooms are generally small

I stayed at this hotel for 3 days from March 27-30, 2013. Even prior to arrival I had received an email from hotel asking my arrival time and whether I will need an early check-in which I did. We arrived to the hotel around 9:15am and our room was made available to us by 9:30am. The concierge even offered us a free breakfast because of that little wait!!

The rooms are a little small but clean and the bed is extremely comfortable. We had a 10 day Europe trip however the best sleep we got was at this Hotel! Slight negative is that the bathroom tiles and switch are of the same color, so if you were trying to go to the bathroom at night you had a problem finding the light switch. Second, the towels are a bit rough, could be a bit smoother.

The breakfast was galore with numerous meats, eggs, vegetables, cereals and pastry. Best breakfast I had on the whole trip! The fitness center has all modern equipment in excellent condition. Free water, fruit, towel service and headphones.

Concierge desk - extremely helpful! They had a map which was easy to understand and the hotel is nearby all places. The location can not be beat! We took the train from the ariport to PG Gracia and the hotel is on the same block!! 10 minute walk from the Ramblas and excellent restaurants in the neighborhood on PG Gracia.

I will highly recommend this hotel for anyone traveling to Barcelona if it fits their budget.
