We stayed in the hotel for couple of days. It is definitely less than an average hotel. The service is minimal, the rooms are very small, the bathroom is tiny with no tub. The only positive thing about the hotel is the location (15 minutes to the center on metro) and a safe box in the room.

I liked the hotel a lot. I cannot mention here something negative because everything was good.
Check-in was fast. The rooms were clean. The staff was polite and helpful. The breakfast I did not try. Wi-fi worked great.
The only suggestion would be the fridge in the room.

I liked the location. 15 minutes walk to the streets with the bars, restaurants and shopping.

I cannot think of something to warn other guests about this hotel. I think it was a great choice for such price and the location.

We stayed at Hotel Via Augusta on July 25th-30th and except for a little mix up on the dates (which was remedied) everything went well.Close to metro stops, good WiFi,clean rooms, air conditioning and a "La Caixa" terminal down the street. This is good for collecting any tickets that you have bought online. The staff was very friendly and helpful, spoke good English and also gave us some great recommendations for food etc.No restaurant but there are some good places for breakfast/dinner nearby. We had a great time in Barcelona and it was partly due to them!
Thanks again,
Glenn & Andrea

This was our second stay in Barcelona and chose this time to be more within the main city area but away from real busy areas of Rambla etc. The hotel location is great, 5 minutes from Fontana metro station and the Gracia FGC station is across the road and down a block. It is a busy road with traffic daytime but patio doors gave excellent soundproofing so it is not problem - we luckily had a balcony (as seen in the frontage of hotel, the balustrade below 'Hotel' sign is the balcony for room 814). The street is very quiet later on and it was nice to be outside just chilling at the end of the night! I would have given 5 stars but marked down because - there was no table/chairs on balcony so we had to use room chair/stool, only 2 coathangers! (we bought some wire ones from local store), no tea/coffee facilities in room (but we took travel kettle!) although there are machines in reception area with hot/cold drinks plus snacks, but the other minus was no fridge in room so even if you bought cold food/drinks, not able to keep them cool; and no bidet in bathroom, which is unusual but no disaster really. The room/hotel is very clean and although we had no great dealings with staff (because we had no problems!), they were all so friendly and reception staff spoke English. We ate one breakfast in hotel, which was very nice but we found a regular cafe to use daily so we could sit outside and plan our day. Many nearby restaurants, shops and bars (try l'oxestal just down from the Gracia FGC station, great tapas, friendly staff) All in all the hotel was such good value and it is obviously rated 2 stars due to having no pool, no full restaurant service, no bar, but these things didn't matter for us and what is provided is on a 3 star level (we have certainly stayed in hotels that were rated 3 and didn't deliver the way this one does) There are bikes available for hire at reception and there is also a scale for checking those cases that might weigh more on the way back than on arrival!

Room Tip: Room 814 with full balcony

very good choice for people who wants to stay central in Barcelona. It is near the train station Gracia 50 Mts. The alternative nighborhood Gracia is really near. You are in Plaza Catalunya in 5 Minutes with this train.

The Hotel is OK but it needs a better maintenance. A few things are not good conservated.
The Internet is free if you have a computer. In the reception they have a computer, but there the internet surfing cost 1 Euro for 10 Minutes!!!

Room Tip: The rooms are not good isolated. If you plan to sleep well after 08:00 choose better another Hotel.

Stayed here for 4 nights from 11-15th of July. I chose the location because I was attending a function nearby. Its a little out of town but I actually preferred the bars and restaurants (of which there are loads) to the ones in town, much better value and no hoards of tourists. Town is only a couple of stops on the metro which is next door or a nice 15 min stroll.
On arrival the reception staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke English. The room was nice and spotless and the bathroom was brand new with a fantastic shower....fully air conditioned and free wifi aswell.
I can't comment on breakfast as I didn't have any but friends said it was great..
I paid €310 for 4 nights which is fantastic value in high season.... I'd fully recommend this hotel to anyone!

We stayed 3 nights in Hotel Via Augusta. We chose this hotel because it was some distance from the centre of Barcelona but had nearby transport facilities. If driving, it is a little tricky to find and there is very limited parking outside for loading and unloading. The hotel car park is a 5 or 10 minute walk away in an underground car park and costs a very reasonable 10 euro daily. A Metro station is quite close to the hotel and the nearest tour bus stop is about a 15 minute walk close to La Pedrera.

The staff were all very welcoming, friendly and helpful. We had some issues with our room on the first night but these were resolved quickly and efficiently the following morning.

We ate beakfast in the hotel every morning. The buffet is comprehensive and should suit all tastes. There is also a simpler, cheaper option of a coffee and pastry.

There is no communal sitting area in the hotel but there is a small, open terrace on the 9th floor.

There are many restaurants and bars within a 10 to 15 minute walk particularly on the other side of Avinguda Diagonal.

Overall it is good value for money and would recommend this hotel to friends and would not hesitate to stay there again on any future visit to Barcelona.
