“Monserrat with beautiful views”
Reviewed June 13, 2014 via mobile

Myself and my mom decided to do our research and make our own way to Monserrat. Very quickly we found our route
and set off, we caught the metro from las Ramblas to another station where we got off brought our next train ticket, we chose the cable car instead of the funicular to reach the top. The staff at the station were very helpful and supported us to purchase our tickets. We then caught the train which took approx 1 hour. The cable car took about 5 mins to reach the top and gave us amazing views over the hills. Once at the top it was like a small village and very peaceful. The buildings and views were so pretty. I read reviews saying it would be cold at the top but we didn't think it was. Very nice day out, would highly recommend you give it a try.

Well worth the visit especially if you are religious.

“Must see on a visit to Barcelona”
Reviewed June 13, 2014

At the top of a mountain looking like a God made Gaudi sculpture is this complex of bascilica museums and monastery that is truly amazing. Take the funiculars.

“The Best Tour in the area”
Reviewed June 12, 2014

We did a combo tour of Montserrat and Cordiniu Cava Winery. Both were amazing views, historically and architecturally speaking. I enjoyed learning more of the history of Catalan and seeing the Oldest business in Spain. Great local foods as well. A full day of travel and walking. You will be tired when you return.

“Worthwhile”
Reviewed June 12, 2014

This is one of the great monasteries. Six of us decided it was worth a taxi ride and were glad to have used one. The church is beautiful (a long crocodile of tourists went round it. Mass was said quietly in a side chapel. The art gallery worthwhile and there is a cafe and one or two little shops, too. The train ride must be great.

“great Monestary!”
Reviewed June 11, 2014

The rock formation was majestic as we arrived with a cross at the top. Then going into the chapel and seeing the black Mary was really amazing too. Better yet, we sampled that liquor too.
