“Breathtaking”
Reviewed April 21, 2012

This area is beautiful! I have a fear of heights, so just a warning to those that feel the same way. You have to go up a very steep mountain road on a bus. It is definitely worth it, but you will have to close your eyes.

“Monstserrat”
Reviewed February 22, 2012

We had an excellent guide who took us up the winding trail to the Monastry which was beautiful. When the sun came out the view below was magnificant. Well worth the visit for a morning or a day if you want to walk. Local market is present where you can buy local cheese for producers and try before you buy.

“Absolutely Fabulous - Don't miss either of these magical places!”
Reviewed January 8, 2012

After some debate, we decided to add a day trip to the beautiful resort town of Sitges to our trip while in the Barcelona, Spain area. The sites, setting and people were all totally gorgeous. We enjoyed some of the freshest seafood of my life whist sipping cold beer overlooking the Med. A place I'll never forget! And a place we all would like to return.

I felt the same way about Montserrat. The train ride there was picturesque and offered a nice view of the Spanish communities and farms we passed. Upon arrival, the tram car up the mountain offered beautiful views for photo taking. STOP at the top of the mountain and sample the cheeses, nuts, honeys, etc the locals are selling. Delicious! A real treat! The main attraction of Monterrat is the Black Madonna, so of course don't miss that. But take your time walking around the cliffs and taking in the panoramic vistas.

“unforgetable”
Reviewed January 7, 2012

we took a bus tour there. Beautiful scenery which gets even prettier as you climb with a magnificent view of the valley below. When I finaly arrived, I was struck with amazement by the wondrous structure of the huge monestery carved out of the mountain. A beautful small city though a bit commercialised. Minstrals in the streets and peasant dancing to glorify God. Very nice restaurants with very good food. The Cathdral is a must see even if your not religious because of the collection of art. Can't remember for sure, but I beleive El greco and Velasques is there. A very positive experience .

“Relaxing Ride”
Reviewed January 5, 2012

Montserrat was just breath taking, for me, it was wait the to see the Black Madonna. Because I had to wait to see Black Madonna, did not spend much time seeing the grounds of Monestary because I had to get back on the tour bus. The train ride up to the Monestarry was spectacular. A must see if you are in Barcelona
