One morning, the hubby and I set out to find churros for breakfast. We started walking from our hotel located in Las Ramblas and since we weren't familiar with the area, we had a difficult time navigating through the alleyways to get to the churreria. It's a small, hole-in-the-wall shop, located right on Via Laietana. I don't recall there being a sign above the door.

The place was indeed small upon walking in and we were lucky to find seating at the counter. We ordered churros con chocolate, cafe de leche, espresso, and porras (we actually didn't know what they were called initially, but pointed to the large, thick, curled donuts in front of us). The churros tasted fresh - crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Too good! Even better were the porras, which were similar to the texture of Portuguese malasadas. Amazing and irrisistible! We ordered a second plate of the porras. That's how good they were.

Like other reviewers we were on a mission to find great churros during our 2 weeks in Spain. We'd had some passable versions in Granada but after we tasted the churros they served here we knew we were onto the real deal. Don't expect anything fancy, just a ma and pa operation with a couple of stools inside. There was no sign out the front with the name, just a board with the drinks and food served. We tried the churros with chocolate. The churros were lite and not oily at all, whilst the chocolate was thick but not too sweet. Well worth searching this place out when you're in Barcelona.

The churros here are freshly made and tasted fantastic with chocolate. They serve a good cup of coffee too. This is a little place with a few seats at the counter. We came here for breakfast and noticed this place was popular with locals grabbing a quite bite. One thing to note: check out their facebook page to see whether they are opened before visiting. We actually came by the day before and found a sign that said the place was closed for the day (even though it was during their operating hours listed on their fb page). I guess it was just an irregularity but definitely check out their page before coming. For example, it is currently stated on their page that they are currently on vacation till September 2.

It is a little place open during the morning for churros, chocolate and coffee. small, mostly for churros and coffee to go, there is a few places at the counter. A few regular come in quickly...I ordered the churros and chocolate which were made on the spot. Good value for just a few euros and it tasted good. Only one thing, the chocolate is extremely hot...i dipped my churros in it but it was too hot for me to drink after...It seems to be the norm in barcelona and spain in general though...

We had a snack at this place on the way to the Palau Musica. Am I ever glad we stopped by. It's a small mom and pop operation with delicious food & drinks. We had the churros, the porras (fat churros with no ridges), hot chocolate and orange juice. The churros and porras were made on site. Super fresh. Goes fantastic with the hot chocolate that's super thick. Dunk 'em in, have a bite. Bliss. The oj was squeezed fresh from real oranges.
