“More bacon, please.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 19, 2013

Super friendly, efficient service (2:00 on a Friday). I had the porchetta, which was lovely. Hubby had the bacon/fig/arugula, which he enjoyed, but found the bacon/arugula equation a bit off. With cava and beers, patates braves and tomato salad our lunch was about 55 euros. We left happy.

“You'll never think of sandwiches the same way again”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 2, 2013 via mobile

Sagas was on TimeOut's list of the 10 burger places in Barcelona. Being a burger fun, I gave it a try for a dinner for two. Wow, the place blew my mind away. First of all, the quality of the food: it's locally sourced, and you get all the information about where it comes from. And it's SO good! I had the "china" burger - three small burgers with pork meat and a special sauce, the meat was so tender and tasty as I never had in my life. Really, don't think this is a burger joint. They take food seriously here, and if you like extraordinary taste but don't like the stuffed arrogance of many restaurants who pretend to be good only to inflate their prices, give Sagas a try. Their desserts are also really very good - I had a chocolate and salt served on olive oil bread which was incredibly good. With a very good bottle of wine and Illy coffee, we paid €30 per person. Absolutely worth it, one of the most interesting and pleasant dinners we had in Barcelona. There's outdoor seating, unpretentious but very well organized, and a cool and nice indoor. This place really brings burgers to the next level!

The Porchetta sandwich will change your life! Nice outdoor seating approaching the Gothic Quarter. Locally sourced food with very helpful staff. Price is in the medium range for lunch.

“For the price you expect so much more”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 12, 2013

My wife, young daughter and I ate here yesterday evening. We ended up here as the preferred burger place was just too busy and this is a very inviting restaurant with seating outside, bar seating just inside as well as more typical seating towards the rear.

We were greeted politely by a friendly woman who kindly offered to heat up some food for our daughter - this was a lovely gesture, but unfortunately didn't set the tone for the evening.

On receiving menus we were surprised by the cost of a classic burger, €12, and a hot dog €8. As our daughter is young we went for both the burger and hot dog and skipped drinks to save a little! We actually only stayed because we thought a €12 burger (no chips or sides included) must be amazing and would be worth it.

Unfortunately the food was only okay, the hot dog was frankly dull (honestly the IKEA ones for €1 are just as tasty but obviously smaller) and the burger, although okay, was just not worth anymore than about €6 (I'm going on taste alone rather than where the beef is sourced which I couldn't say). The potato 'wedges' were quite dry and I think they'd be better off having fries on the menu to pair with a burger.

Also, I must say that the service wasn't good - we weren't offered refreshing towels although the table next to us had them, no straws for my daughter to drink her juice with (or some language trouble?) and other than the woman, who initially greeted us, the remainder of the staff seemed a bit disinterested and slow. Lastly the toilets were out of paper - surprising as the restaurant was very quiet and you'd think they'd be able to keep on top of this.
