“ultimate foodie tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 20, 2012

we recently toured spain in the 'ultimate foodie tour of spain' with A TASTE OF SPAIN. this was a small group tour (ours turned out to be 9 participants) that encompassed madrid, san sebastien, and barcelona with stops in bilbao and sitges as well. from the title you can surmise the emphasis was on the food, but we did also enjoy tours of each city taking in the architecture and history of each city as well as the guggenheim in bilbao.but this was not the type of tour where you stop at every church and look in every corner for 2 or 3 hours. this was a real foodie tour. as for the food, we had 2 cooking demonstrations with local chefs in which we could participate to our own comfort level, preceeded by visits to the market to select the food. lunches and dinners were feasts of the region with local wine flowing. speaking of wine, 2 winery tours were included with wine tasting and lunch at a rioja winery and a cava producer. ample free time for exploring on your own as well as a few free nights to seek out a restaurant for that special night were also left free. in all, a wonderful experience!!

“A Foodie Excursion Through Barcelona”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 18, 2012

Fast forward through a delectable sampling of the cuisine of the area through the good offices of A Taste of Spain.

Traveling through the idyllic landscapes of San Sebastien and Barcelona while stopping to sample the exquisite Iberico ham coupled with a delightful Cava wine from a local vinter was a peak experience for us.

As an introductory visit to this great country you cannot top A TASTE OF SPAIN!

“Barcelona with A Taste of Spain”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 16, 2012

A Taste of Spain was superb to work with not only booking our trip but on each step of our journey. Our hotel, Condes de Barcelona was perfectly situated along Paseo de Gracia between Gaudi's La Pedrera and Casa Batllo. Our Barcelona culinary exploration began with a tasting menu at Comerc 24. Our second day we met with our wonderful guide for our private Gaudi-themed tour of Sagrada Familia and Parc Guel. Just amazing! That evening we had an Iberico and wine themed dinner at Meson 5J where we made new friends with a family from our hometown in NY. The only other tourists in the restaurant! The next day chef Jaume met us and took us on a tour of the Boqueria food market, followed by a fantastic private cooking class and lunch. That evening we toured the Gothic district with our guide stopping for tapas and dessert tasting along the way. The next day we met with Gloria, who took us on a personal and cultural shopping tour through Barcelona with chauffeur. It was really wonderful as Gloria took us to a store in an old mansion and to stores with items made in Spain. With no pushing to make purchases, we were able to really enjoy every moment and see all different areas we would have missed without Gloria! That night we had dinner by the harbor at Agua. The last day we relaxed on the rooftop of our hotel. A lovely dinner then a special time watching the Magic Fountain of Montjuïc. Not to be missed!!! It was a great trip we will never forget!

“Unforgettable Experience..Awesome day!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 4, 2012

My friend Kate & I will talk about this experience for years to come and will also put to very good use, all that we learnt that day. Juame was very welcoming after picking us up from our motel & then taking us on a tour of La Boqueria Market and surrounds, it was very interesting and so much fun. We felt very comfortable in the top floor apartment and after a glass of wine, we rolled up our sleeves and got right amongst all the food that we had just purchased at the market. Amazing seafood and it was the first time I really enjoyed marinated anchovies...yummy.. and the seafood paella was the cherry on top!
Very enjoyable day and would highly reccomend anyone to book as we would definitely do it again. Thankyou very much Juame for such a "intense" experience and hope to cross paths again one day. Cheers to anyone that participates!

“taste of spain exceeded all my expectations.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 27, 2012

As a professional chef and restaurant company owner, I was impressed with the agenda and recommendations that Miguel Ullibarri had arranged for our group. My only hesitation with" Taste of Spain" is the non acceptance of the American Express card.
