Description: New concept of tapas, reinventing our spanish beloved pepito sandwich, feminizing it and using new ingredients under this same concept. Taking care of the traditional receipts, product´s season and tapas eating way. La Pepita is a place to come for an early aperitif, some beers and bravas, late lunch or dinner, at the marble bar or in the cozy small saloon. It is a familiar restaurant, where the value for money and treat is something we take care about.

“Fish and strawberries good? Who would have thought? Nice experience”
Reviewed September 22, 2013

4 adults and 2 kids < 8 years old can have a nice meal there. We did not have a reservation, so had to wait about 30 minutes for a table in the back. It is a crowded place (cramped actually).

Any duck dish was awesome, and very decorative. The ham croquette wasn't very special - we've had very similar across Barcelona. The marinated mackerel with strawberries was great, and not what I expected, not fishy, savory and sweet. The server spoke English, and was kind enough to explain what we were eating.

The desserts were a miss. The creme brulee was gooey. The corn ice cream was very special - not something I would order everyday but it's the first time I had corn ice cream. Not gritty.

The prices of the tapas is not cheap, but the experience was worth it.

“Oral pleasure!”
Reviewed September 20, 2013 via mobile

This place is cool, chic, modern, groovy and a fantastic find.

It's intimate and because its so so good, expect it to be busy. It's a great vibe though! We hadn't booked but were greeted nicely on entry, asked if we would like to wait 1/2 an hour and enjoy a drink at the bar and we are so glad we did. We were seated at the bar after about 10 mins and we ordered around 5 mins later and food started coming out 5 - 10 mins after that. Very organized and attentive service.

It's not cheap, it's not expensive, you do pay pay for the superb quality but the servings are generous. The flavours were outstanding. The food has a modern and sometimes unique twist. Every dish we ordered was simply amazing and we love good food. We had the beef skewer which had very lean succulent meat, the duck Caesar salad and the fried egg with the ham and chips ( homemade lightly fried crisps and delicious Iberian ham) and the chicken croquettes. Now for a lighter, feeling content stomach we could have stopped here, but as the food was so tasty and it was our last night we ordered another two glasses of Chardonnay, the aubergine fritters with apple, goats cheese and honey and the Mc Pepita which is their take on a tapas style burger which we shared and highly recommend.... I'd eat these all day long!

Two of us, 6 dishes and two glasses of Chardonnay for just over 50 euro. We would happily go earlier and spend a 100 and try more but we simply didn't have time.

This topped any Tapas styled food we found in Barcelona and we found two other amazing places whilst we were exploring.

“Original, trendy but also more expensive than others”
Reviewed September 18, 2013 via mobile

Advised by friends of us, we went to la pepita expecting a very good restaurant... And indeed it was very nice food, with excellent wines and original dishes...
This is a very popular place so, no reservation is not a good idea, we waited for 20 for a spot at the bar... Meanwhile looking at the waiters working as ants in front of you... It is so crowded and everything is going on at the same time: orders, plates being served, questions answered, tables cleaned...
If you 're looking for good food and you aren't bothered by all the fuzzz and buzzz, go here...
Also take your creditcard , 'cause its not cheap... Around 50,- pp...for diner...

“Fantastic, loved the tapas here”

Busy place, make sure you book or you may have a wait. This is the place to be in Barca right now. Great tapas, friendly atmosphere, and good value. Try the hummus or the tuna.

“Best Tapas in Barca!!”
Reviewed September 17, 2013 via mobile

We visited the restaurant after seeing the trip advisor reviews. We stopped for lunch (open 1 - 4.30pm) whilst out shopping.
It didn't disappoint! We got a really warm welcome, great service, great atmosphere but above all the food was amazing!!
It cost us €72 for 4 x tapas, 2 x la Pepita special mains, 2 x desserts, 2 x sangria and 2 x beers. It was the two of us by the way.
Would totally recommend and is worth the searching.
Well done La Pepita - we will be back! Xx
