We were craving Indian food and asked Pakistani shop owners in the Raval for a restaurant that would have good butter chicken. They directed us to Zeeshan Kababish. We would never have found this on our own or gone in if we had come across it. Dimly lit, with straight back chairs and formica table tops and a tv blaring Pakistani soap operas, this restaurant did not look promising. But the food, when it came, was terrific - delicious chicken tikka masala, mutton curry, karahi chicken and fresh naan. The one kabab dish we ordered was not great, though that could be an aberration. The place is not licensed and serves soft drinks at cost, the food is authentic, with spice levels adjusted for each diner, and is very reasonably priced. We went back to this place twice, and were very pleased to have discovered it.

Had dinner, great rice, average Vindaloo. The service was slow and they were almost empty. interesting layout since they have a back room that was quite dark where all the native speakers were sat, westerners appear to be sat in the forward better lit room. OK experience, nothing special.

Best Pakistani food I've had in Europe (including London) in this price range. We had the biryani, karahi chicken, chappal kabab, mango lassi, masala chai, and palak paneer, and I enthusiastically recommend them all! The decor, atmosphere, friendly laid-back service, and food made me feel like I had stepped into a little restaurant on the subcontinent. Worth the trek, and worth braving the slightly unsavoury denizens of the Rambla neighborhood.
