Owner description: This fascinating area is steeped in history, with city hall located in the same spot where kings once reigned. You'll find narrow streets and squares here, with Gothic mansions, museums, historic churches, bars and restaurants. The Placa del Rei is reputedly the place where King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella welcomed Columbus after his voyage to America.

Very nice area to walk around, get a bite to eat and do some shopping. Lots of narrow quaint streets with lots to do. Hard to get lost in most streets eventually get you back to La Ramblas.

visit the Rambla once and spend the rest of your time here. This is old and glorious Barcelona and a real treasure of discoveries await you.

Spent some time here on a tour and after. In the evening it´s magical. Little streets, churches, no cars and safe, awesome!

Lots of ancient narrow streets to explore with bohemian shops (as well as a few trendy chain stores). Museums, small squares, cafes and restaurants. Well worth a couple hours of getting lost.
