My wife and I strolled through the Ciutat Vella each day of our weeklong trip to Barcelona this past February. The narrow alleys are intriguing with the variety of shops that are around each corner. It seems like there is a pastry shop on each block. Our guide on our tapas tour with Spanish Trails filled us in on a lot of history as we walked through the Ciutat Vella. We found a couple of cafes for lunch that featured their meal of the day. This was a can't miss area for us to experience the Old City of Barcelona.
