“Would stay again in a heartbeat!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 6, 2013

We needed a hotel for 1 night before our cruise.

The Hotel Lloret did not disappoint.

Our flight landed early in the morning, so off to the hotel via taxi we went. About 30 euros. There was no one in line and we told the gentlemen we know we are early, so if there's no room ready that's understandable.

He took our paperwork and went on his computer. He nicely said there's one room he can give us now and the other would be ready in the afternoon. We were 2 couples traveling, so we graciously took that room.

He said we can have some breakfast, which was a welcome also. He was very nice and accommodating and we appreciated that after a long flight.

The hotel is prime real estate on las ramblas. Across the street from the visitors center where you can purchase the hop on hop off bus.

We were on the 1st floor which is really the second floor and this room had a balcony facing
las ramblas. It was small, which is typically all hotels in Europe. Bathroom was clean with complimentary toiletries. We opened up the balcony door and took it all in.

After freshening up and changing our clothes, we all went downstairs for something to eat. It was a typical European breakfast with coffee, juices, breads, lunchmeats, cheeses and cereals. I had cereal, coffee and this sweet bread which was tasty. Others made sandwiches and had juice. There was a worker who was cleaning up and making sure items were replenished. The food filled our stomachs and we were ready to do some sightseeing.

Later coming back in the afternoon, the other couple received their room. They didn't have a balcony and didn't care. We were just so tired. Our bed was hard, however, we slept like logs. The tv had more English speaking channels than our cruise ship (MSC cruises). LOL!

We did hear the hustle and bustle of las ramblas at night. It didn't bother us at all, because we got to people watch from the safety of our balcony. Even the group of guys who dance in the surrounding areas performed outside our balcony. We had seen them earlier on a walking tour. That was cool!

One thing happened which was a negative. After waking up from our naps, I was laying in the bed and husband was in the shower. Someone opened our door. The way our room was set up, you couldn't see the bed. Only if you came in the room more. I'm assuming they heard the shower and quickly shut the door. We don't know who it was, but, they had a key. After that my husband put the chair up against the door. I suggest always carrying your valuables such as jewelry, passport and cash on you. It's a shame this has to be done, however, you just never get complacent in any of your travels. Foreign or domestic. We didn't report it. It didn't ruin our night.

We got a good deal on booking.com which included breakfast. Hotel is clean and on las ramblas. What else can you ask for?

I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay again in a heartbeat.

We stayed here for one night after our cruise. We wanted to spend a day in Barcelona before heading back to San Francisco and this was a good spot. Right in the middle of the action. The hotel was clean and they had a nice breakfast. Our room was in the back with no view but also very quiet. Plenty of restaurants in this area and shopping galore. Wifi was fast and they had two computers if you need them. They were kind enough to print our boarding passes after we emailed them the info. The staff was pleasant and we would certainly return.

Stay away from this hotel!! We were a family of three staying at this hotel on 10/24/13. We paid for our stay and then were given keys to our room. The man at the front desk then directed us to go across the street to our room. I thought this was odd that I was going to another hotel but didn't say anything because he said that the rooms are bigger for our family of three. We proceeded to cross Las Ramblas and go directly across to the Continental Hotel. We took the elevator up to the 2nd floor and there was a black door on the left and proceeded to go to our room #4. Upon entering the room, it smelled like fish. The inside was ugly, bare and there was even a mop in a bucket in the corner of the room. It looked like they gave us the housekeeper or staffs room. The restroom curtain was broken, lying on the ground. There were no shampoo or conditioner, only soap. The area outside our window was loud so none of us could get any sleep. The pictures on their website is deceiving. No A/C in the bedroom. STAY AWAY FROM HOTEL LLORET!!

Clean, comfortable hotel with friendly staff. Good breakfast which was replenished during the meal. We stayed in a first floor room overlooking las ramblas and ended our evenings with a nightcap on the balcony people watching. Excellent location, good choice of shops, bars and restaurants nearby. We had no problem with security despite leaving gadgets in our room. We especially enjoyed a meal at Cinco Jotas and the flamenco show at the marina end of las ramblas which can be arranged by the hotel. My friends were a little apprehensive due to previous reviews but we all agrred this hoel was great value for money and wpuld have no hesitation in staying there again.

Room Tip: Depends on noise sensitivity, I enjoyed watching the world go by on las ramblas

We liked this hotel very much, has small but very clean rooms, efficient reception, fluffy towels, even toiletries, nice bed and bedding, telephone, AC, flat screen TV.
Community rooms looked very cosy, lifts very new, carpets updated, corridors newly decorated.

We slept with balcony door open and although it was noisy at night, we didn't mind because of the excellent location.

Only one thing that can be improved is the shower, I flooded bathroom floor including corridor.

Will definitively recommend and visit again.

Room Tip: Higher floors have better view of La Rambla and possibly less noise at night

Great location for exploring Barcelona on foot, near metro and aerobus stops! The hotel itself was clean, and basic but had everything you would need, including a decent breakfast! We had a room at the front with a balcony, noise wasn't an issue but could be in the hotter months if you wanted to sleep with the doors open. Would stay again!

This year, I went back to Hotel Lloret in Barcelona. My partner and I live in Australia, and we travel once a year. The hotel was much nicer than I remembered (I had been there in 2010). Part of the hotel has been refurbished, and there are different types of rooms to suit all desires. Our room was the best! The hotel is very clean, warm and friendly. The rooms overlooking the Ramblas have a vibrant view of all the constant activity and the magic nightlife of Barcelona. At the same time, though, the hotel gives you this feeling of "being at home" due to the personal attention and kindness of its owners. The two best assets: the optimal service given by the staff 24 hours a day, and the location! The price is very reasonable. It has computer access in a homy area on the ground floor. I definitely recommend it, and we will stay there again next time we are back in Barcelona.

Room Tip: Talk to the people at reception when booking, and let them know what you want. They are most helpfu...
