We needed a hotel for 1 night before our cruise.
The Hotel Lloret did not disappoint.
Our flight landed early in the morning, so off to the hotel via taxi we went. About 30 euros. There was no one in line and we told the gentlemen we know we are early, so if there's no room ready that's understandable.
He took our paperwork and went on his computer. He nicely said there's one room he can give us now and the other would be ready in the afternoon. We were 2 couples traveling, so we graciously took that room.
He said we can have some breakfast, which was a welcome also. He was very nice and accommodating and we appreciated that after a long flight.
The hotel is prime real estate on las ramblas. Across the street from the visitors center where you can purchase the hop on hop off bus.
We were on the 1st floor which is really the second floor and this room had a balcony facing
las ramblas. It was small, which is typically all hotels in Europe. Bathroom was clean with complimentary toiletries. We opened up the balcony door and took it all in.
After freshening up and changing our clothes, we all went downstairs for something to eat. It was a typical European breakfast with coffee, juices, breads, lunchmeats, cheeses and cereals. I had cereal, coffee and this sweet bread which was tasty. Others made sandwiches and had juice. There was a worker who was cleaning up and making sure items were replenished. The food filled our stomachs and we were ready to do some sightseeing.
Later coming back in the afternoon, the other couple received their room. They didn't have a balcony and didn't care. We were just so tired. Our bed was hard, however, we slept like logs. The tv had more English speaking channels than our cruise ship (MSC cruises). LOL!
We did hear the hustle and bustle of las ramblas at night. It didn't bother us at all, because we got to people watch from the safety of our balcony. Even the group of guys who dance in the surrounding areas performed outside our balcony. We had seen them earlier on a walking tour. That was cool!
One thing happened which was a negative. After waking up from our naps, I was laying in the bed and husband was in the shower. Someone opened our door. The way our room was set up, you couldn't see the bed. Only if you came in the room more. I'm assuming they heard the shower and quickly shut the door. We don't know who it was, but, they had a key. After that my husband put the chair up against the door. I suggest always carrying your valuables such as jewelry, passport and cash on you. It's a shame this has to be done, however, you just never get complacent in any of your travels. Foreign or domestic. We didn't report it. It didn't ruin our night.
We got a good deal on booking.com which included breakfast. Hotel is clean and on las ramblas. What else can you ask for?
I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay again in a heartbeat.
