“Very central hotel”
Reviewed September 30, 2012

This hotel is very well located and central. We decided to go to this hotel because we had friends that had already stayed there. The lobby is very big and the staff attended to us very well when we got to the hotel. This is one of the things i would highlight from this hotel, the service. Spacious rooms and well decorated. Easy walking distance to the central atractions and makes sightseeing an easy walking task. Good restaurants around the area.

Loved our stay here, the bed was very comfortable. The room was great. Very clean and well laid out. Our only complaint was that we were never able to get the adapter to work for our electronics. Having said that, the front desk staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. The location was perfect for taking in the sites and we easily walked to most of them. After a busy day of sightseeing the rooftop pool was a nice place to relax and unwind. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

The Gran Havana is conveniently located, the rooms are quite large and well equipped and the staff (in particular the doorman) are extremely helpful.
But the advertsied "Free WiFi" won't let you download email with Thunderbird or other email servers - you have to do that through web browsers - if you want fast internet to get your email to work you have to pay another Eur6.60 per day (or mention the fact that others have complained on Trip Advisor and you intend to - then it is quickly gratis sir).
The other little problem is that on two of our three days the rooftop pool (which is quite small) closed between 17:30 and 21:30 - just when we returned hot and weary from sightseeing and needed a dip.
Breakfast is available for Eur14,00 but at a dozen places within one hundred metres you can get it for half that price.

We stayed here for 2 nights and found the location great. It was just a 15 minute walk to the Rambla and a similar walk to Sagrada Familia. The bed was so comfy we wanted to take it home with us! The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean and modern. The best bit about this hotel though was the roof top pool and terrace, this is not a big area but is a perfect place to come and relax after a day's sightseeing. There is great tapas and a bar so you can take a dip, catch some sun and have a snack before heading back out to sample the nightlife. We didnt have breakfast in the hotel as it was much cheaper to eat at the nearby cafes and watch the world go by.

Room was clean and pleasant. Very spacious. Wished though they charged me cheaper for one person instead of the same rate for 2 persons. I knew this when I booked too so it's not a surprise.

Comfortable bed and pillows and air-con works well which I could control myself.

Nice pool!

Nice bathtub to unwind after long shopping hours. Bring your own bath salt!

Everything you need in a hotel room, fridge, kettle, full-length mirrors (2), tv, radio, hair-dryer, beach towels.

Wifi was no problem. Of all my 5 days only once or twice I had problem connecting for a while.Otherwise it worked very well. Ask for 3 days connection if you are staying longer, instead of 24 hrs.

Yes I could hear the traffic outside as expected but I used ear plugs so it was not a problem.

11th sep was Catalonia National Day and I didn't know that. I wished hotel had informed the guests so we could plan our day.

Hotel restaurant was also nice! Or visit the nearby Bruc33Tapas (real nice!) which is open all day!

Otherwise a pleasant stay! ^_^

We enjoyed this hotel and would happily recommend it. English is spoken by all the service staff. Free wifi for 24 hours for browsing. Good breakfast available for 14-18 euros if not included in room price and you dont feel like walking for cheaper. Easy walk to Barcelona centre where there are shops, food and nightlife. Taxi stand at front door(under 35 euros to airport)

Hop on, off bus recommended - ask for seniors rate.
