I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. It is next to the diagonal street and rambla the catalunya. The room is quite spacious, clean with all facilities one could wish. However the walls are thin so it is kind of noisy in the morning.. Breakfast is continental and has something for everyone. It is the perfect place for a citytrip or for business.

I recently came back from a 3 night stay at the Hotel Balmoral in Barcelona and it was really good. We had a conference room at the hotel, which was well set up and laid out, drinks and pastries were provided. It got a little cold at times, and a little hot at others - but that is the nature of most conference rooms.

The bedroom was spacious for a city hotel and very clean with laminate floowing, which made it a little loud, but it looked sleek and modern (and no smelly carpet, which is good). The bathroom also very clean, maybe a little dark and my hairdryer made an almost mechanical clicking sound, so I did not use it as I did not want to risk it blowing up. There is a minibar but no tea/coffee facilities, which is a shame. I had a room with a view to the courtyard, so the room was bright. It had air conditioning but I just opened the window to get fresh air, so not sure how AC works. The bed was comfortable and provided different typed of pillows, which was a nice touch!

Breakfast was really good, lots of choice, no complaints there at all (I don't need a cooked breakfast, so it was perfect for me as the hot items choice was limited). Very nice orange juice and good coffee and although the room looked small, there was more than enough space. Again, this whole area was very clean, tidy and just really comfortable.

All around, the hotel is excellent, the staff are extremely friendly and know the area, they gave lots of tips about how to get around and where to go if you only had a limited amount of time to shop or sightsee. The sundeck / spa area is small, I tried the sauna, which was a little cool but still ok and relaxing. Changing and shower facilities are clean, sleek and again very nice. The sundeck is good, but there is not much of a view. I did work up there for a couple of hours and was very comfortable, though.

I can definitely recommend this hotel for business travel, haven't made my mind up whether it would be as good for a family visit as I'd worry about kids running on the laminate floors, and while it is sleek and clean, it isn't entirely cosy, which I like for leisure trips.

Room Tip: Courtyard room on 4th floor was very quiet

We were very happy to stay in a neat hotel with friendly personnel and located nearby all kind of facilities and sightseeing.
Just one remark: the room on the first floor has rather noisy and lightly shaky atmosphere due to the suburb nearby.... but you get used to it.

Room Tip: Sauna and fitness room are excellent. Attractive and well served breakfast self service. Just a sugg...

Stayed at this hotel for 4 night city break to celebrate a 50th birthday. Check in was quick and efficient and the young lady gave us some info about the area, very helpful. Rooms were well decorated, clean and comfortable with a choice of pillows. Tea/coffee making facilities would have been nice but there was a minibar. Room cleaned everyday with clean towels if you wanted them. Right on the road but was not noisy at all at night although you sometimes can hear the rumble of the metro nearby but not extreme. Terrace didn't appear to be open, we tried twice just to have a look but was locked however this didn't really bother us as we wanted to go sightseeing. Might have been nice to sit and have a drink though. Would definitely stay again.

This hotel is in city centre and you can have to all great locations. The hotel has got comfortable rooms. The Breakfast is good. But, no tea maker is there. Mini bar & hair dryer is there. It is a nice business hotel, giving all comforts. Front Desk is very supportive too.

Booked a family room (interconnecting) for one night! When we arrived at reception there is a receptionist efficiency but not much friendliness, even a smile, nor is there an invitation to take bags to room etc.

When we got to our rooms or first reaction is that one of them stinks of sewerage and we immediately call reception who arrives with a can of air freshener, sprays the room but no explanation or apology. Or next was a curious look to see what exactly makes this is a four star hotel with basic rooms, noisy air conditioning and of course our now lingering smell of apple blossom to kill the sewerage smell.

We went out for the day and didn’t arrive back till well after 10pm to be welcomed by the same sewerage smell but now worse. Immediately ringing reception to be told that there is nobody to deal with it and they don’t have any access to air freshener. Once the room was covered in many different Lynx variations we get a call from downstairs to offer us the choice of changing room (not interconnecting) which was unacceptable as our kids are now in bed and why would we accept a room that was not interconnecting.

I won’t bore you with the other finer details but we were offered €21 discount for our parking charges and it won’t happen again and we are really sorry excuse. I’m astonished how some Hotels get to certain rankings but for us the Balmoral didn’t really hit the mark for us as a family staying in what was only one night in Barcelona.

Good hotel; perfect location, but still close to the center.
Attention for details. Not very noisy, even for somebody quite light sleeping.
The staff pretty helpful for everything we asked. They even provide us US to Europe plug adapter.
