If you are going to Barcelona for the major sights, stay away from this hotel, since it is only suitably located for a conference at the Fira. Even then, there are considerably better options available. Where to start? The hotel is very small and narrow. This gives the feeling of claustrophobia which continues upstairs in the bedrooms which resemble a prison cell. Mine had no natural light, the walls were paper thin, and sound insulation was conspicuous by its absence. Sleeping was difficult even when the hotel was relatively empty, because of noise transfer from every direction. The staff were generally offhand and miserable. I am fairly fluent in Spanish (not Catalan), but even then they were unhelpful and more interested in chatting to their friends at the lobby than helping their guests.
I was disappointed to not be able to use the sun terrace on the roof; it was closed for the winter, despite the warm temperatures in October.
The plus sides - a very good breakfast for a 3 star hotel. Free internet access, which was very useful (wired and wifi). The room and bathroom were very clean, which was good, but the bed was uncomfortable and small for a double (they would not have been able to get a standard sized double into this room though).
However, do not let these plus points cloud your judgement. If you are looking for a 3 star hotel in this area specifically, the Silken Concordia is better. If you want to have easy access to all the major attractions of Barcelona, don't stay in this area, and definitely don't stay at this hotel.

Room Tip: I don't think there are any good rooms in this hotel.

The hotel is in a residential area and there aren't that many restaurants to choose from if you want to stay in the area. It's not too bad to get the metro but not ideal; about a ten minute walk. The hotel is clean and comfortable and good value for money. If I were to go back to Barcelona, I'd probably choose to stay in Fontana or Diagonal. Better choice of restaurants and a local supermarket in the area.

Other than that hotel was great!

A very nice hotel, room and bathroom comfortable size well presented and clean, Staff were helpful. For a tourist it is a bit away from the main tourist center and the port, but it is only 5-10 minutes walk to subway, bus and airport shuttle stops at Plaza Espana . There are also food outlets and shops close by and a large shopping center.

Just 3 stops from the airport by train ( we were told to stay on for next stop by information which cost us a 45 min walk) used Aerobus going home which picks up in Plaza Espana only a 5 min walk. Hotel is'nt big but has most things you will need, reception staff are helpfull for advise.
Plenty of eating options nearby including a large shopping mal in the shape of the coloseum. Room was ok for a 3 star, no noise at night apart from the odd door, bathroom was big enough for us. Breakfast was nice with fresh food every day.
Would of been nice to have a hotel bar but there's plenty nearby. Overall the location is good, close enough to the action but not right on top of it. We would stay there again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view at the back of the hotel and do the open top bus city tour.

From port to hotel by metro was only a few stops. Room was ready early. View was over a school yard in back of hotel with the palace in the background. Noisy only during two of the seven days at the hotel but we were out most of those times. Beds were comfortable. Room was small, but more than adequate for two. Big tub for soaking. Staff made every effort to assist with train and metro transportation, destination requests etc. Full breakfast was plentiful, fresh and delicious. Hotel price was very good compared to others in same category. Free WiFi in room was a plus. Also a computer in the lobby to print boarding tickets if needed.

Room Tip: Fourth floor was quiet except for the hall noise when guests came in late at night. But that was minimal. It seemed like an adult, more sedate place. Elevators were quiet. Doors closed securely so they made noise even when closed carefully. Again, no major deal breaker. No TV channels in English, so it's good to know Spanish.
