Description: Gut opened in the bohemian yet alternative Gracia district in Barcelona. This originally-styled restaurant is decorated in white and pale colours throughout, with clean lines and Scandinavian design influences. The breakfast, lunch and afternoon from 6 pm. Menu offers predominantly Mediterranean cuisine as well as some international and vegetarian dishes, made with the finest ingredients and gluten free, all prepared in house. Especial didhes: small tofu burgurs with wasabi mayonaise, tuna with celery and pumkins pure or ox tataky with miso sauce. While the homemade desserts, such as chocolate and mascarpone cake, also deserve a special mention. The restaurant prides itself on its warm atmosphere, with great attention to details. Great cart available for celiacs.

“Excellent option for vegetarians in Barcelona (with meat eaters)”
Reviewed June 13, 2014

We are family of 6 where 2 are vegetarian . Finding a restaurant in Barcelona (or in Northern Spain generally) that caters for vegetarians and also for the 20 year old boy/man who wants a steak is not easy. So step up Restaurant Gut. This is a really nice restaurant on a small street north of the tourist area (but only 5 minutes in a taxi) where the menu gives a decent and interesting choice for vegetarians (both starters and mains) along with duck, steak, sea bass etc. The young people running the restaurant are extremely pleasant and helpful and the food is very interesting, well prepared and imaginative. An English version of the menu is available (also online), the waiters spoke English and could not have been more helpful. An interesting wine list too (we had an organic Rioja for €15 which was lovely). Irrespective of the vegetarian point, the food is very good in its own right and I would strongly recommend it. We were staying at the El Palace Hotel and were so impressed with Gut that we gave its card to the concierge and suggested that if guests wanted a very good restaurant that catered for both carnivores and vegetarians (something the hotel's Caelis Michelin starred restaurant told me they couldn't do) they should send them to Gut. Bill for 6 including the wine, a gin and tonic and water was €184. Well done Restaurant Gut.

“Good vibe Good food but no gin tonic!”
Reviewed June 9, 2014 via mobile

I went there with a group or friends when I was in Barcelona. The food was very good. We had the salmon and the cod. Ambiance was good. The crowd was young and the restaurant full at midnight. The only deception was that it was impossible to get gin tonics. We tought that making drinks was a house specialty. We went there on a sunday night.

“Not what we expected”

I read the reviews and thought It would be amazing. But I was disappointed. Food was mediocre and overpriced. But service was very good. There are way better places for this kind of food.

“Great food, atmosphere, staff & price!”
Reviewed April 21, 2014 via mobile

We called in on spec, on Easter Sunday evening (early doors in Spanish terms!) and although we hadn't booked, the restaurant quickly filled up so any later and I think we would have needed to. The staff were extremely welcoming and spoke excellent English, which put to shame (and rendered useless) our feeble attempts at Spanish! We had 3 courses, a bottle of wine and a coffee, plus the complimentary bread, aperitif and water, all for just under 50 quid. Given the high standard, that's a bargain... the food was of excellent quality and, although the portions may appear small, the balance of flavours and different elements meant that we certainly didn't leave hungry. (Might I suggest that the reviewer who said he/she left unsatisfied might have considered ordering 2 meals for 2 people rather than sharing 1...). I would also add that the vegetarian selection was impressive and so catered for us as a veggie and a carnivor!!
Overall I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a simple, classy place at a very good price. Excellent.

“Delicious food (and great value to boot!)”

Stopped in for dinner based on other reviews. Excellent! Great atmosphere, delicious entrees and desserts. The mixed mushroom, apple, and duck wrap is to die for. Highly recommend.
