Following all the 5-star recommendations and the fact that Romero was a 5-minute walk from our hotel, we decided to give the place a try last night. The reviews were more than justified. We went for the set menu each chose fish as a main course and were delighted with both preparation and presentation. And the price was right, too. We shall certainly return if our - and their schedule - allows (they are closed for 3 days over the Christmas break). Highly recommended.

This restaurant easily compares to $100 a head places in New York and London but has none of the arrogance (or more importantly the extra zero at the end of the bill).
Friendly, multi-lingual staff and a pleasant, understated atmosphere.
Note: Does not open until 8.30pm.

After a few months, we went back to Romero to our anniversary. Great food (truffle and cheese ravioli, duck confit, carpaccio and beef with mushroom sauce, carrot cake with mango sorbet, apple crumble with Malibou liqueur foam), excellent service. A must see for the Eixample and Barcelona.

Just got back from dining at Romero's. As TA reviews note, the food was very well done for all courses. The restaurant is cozy and the arched brick ceiling brings nice dimensionality to the space. My wife and I spent 50 euros for the 3 course prix fixe meals, and that's a fantastic value for people like us who are from NYC. For this quality food in NYC, I'd expect to pay double.

Phoned to book a table after reading reviews. Was empty when we arrived but glad we booked as it soon filled up. The waiter and waitress were both very nice but not over the top friendly, just helpful where it was needed, which is the way I prefer it. Had a delicious ravioli to start and duck for main, both of which were delicious although thought the main would've benefitted from a bit more veg. It was a very reasonbly priced meal and the food was delicious, although wouldn't say I was stuffed! Would recommend.
