“Excellent food, location and value for money”
Reviewed August 5, 2013

We came across this restaurant by accident and were so glad we found it. The tapas menus was lovely, service friendly and the total bill (including beer and wine) was only €15 each. We will be back - thank you!

“Excellent value in an elegant, uncrowded setting”
Reviewed July 13, 2013

Thanks to TripAdvisor reviews we took ourselves here one evening, and found a lovely spacious and elegant restaurant, with good food at an exceptionally reasonable price. The service was smiling and efficient and the food unpretentious but good. The high ceiling in the main room mean its never too noisy, and the tables are set far enough apart you don't feel crowded. We had a leisurely meal in pleasant surroundings without being rushed, and no nasty surprises with the bill. And they take Amex!

“Authentic Catalan food near La Rambla”
Reviewed June 29, 2013

Two years ago I ate here while staying near by. When I came back to Barcelona, I sought this place out again because I'd enjoyed it so much the last time. I was excited to find it, and was again very pleased. The dishes are as authentic to the region as you will find in this touristy area. Try a pitcher of the house made sangria with a dish of their local Catalan beans and sausage or any fish dish or their paella. You won't be disappointed! The price fix menu is a fantastic value, too!

“Good neighbourhood restaurant near the Boqueria”
Reviewed June 14, 2013

Good simple Spanish food; nice service; pleasant airy dining room. And free wifi!

Hard to find "local" establishments this close to centre; it is all touristy places. This is a real gem. Not fancy but good food.

“A Great Neighborhood Bistro”
Reviewed May 16, 2013

I have been dining at l'Antic Forn for years, nearly every time that I have been in Barcelona (which is 2 or 3 times per year, sometimes more often). The food and wine are always very good and the ambiance quite enjoyable --even during the week when the restaurant is packed with diners from local businesses, etc. The cuisine is marketplace and seasonal. Be sure to try the "calçots" which are roasted fresh spring onions, or the fresh artichokes, followed by a main couse such as fresh fish or other seafood. This is my go-to restaurant in BCN when I simply want to relax and, if shortly after my arrival, just shake off the jet-lag in a nice neighborhood eatery.
