Description: Welcome to Gilda Tapas y Platos! Dedicated to the fading art of good service and fine, flavorful food at a good price, we seek out the freshest, quality ingredients to ensure your experience is of the highest calibre from beginning (our delectable gourmet tapas) to end (our mouth watering house-made deserts)! Since we are part of Belgious, don't be surprised to discover that some of our dishes come with wasabi, ginger, curry or even cannabis ice-cream ! Our kitchen opens every evening from 18:30 till midnight (even later during weekends), meaning you can even walk in at 23:45 and still enjoy dinner with us. If you would like to try our gastronomy at noon, we do open the restaurant -prior reservation- for private groups from 14 to 38 guests (Ideal for celebrations or company related luncheons).

Friends recommended Gilda before we left of our trip and to be honest, I forgot about it. While walking down the street, I had sent a text to our friends and said "what was that place you said to go" and when he responded, we were literally standing in front of Gilda. This was the best luck we had all day!

The food takes the best of both world and somehow makes it all work together perfectly. Tapas is the Spanish staple but Gilda's staff does an incredible task of taking those classic dishes to a whole new level with the inflection of cooking styles from Liege. The must not miss is the Belgian style beef stew served on crustini - small bite, big WOW.

It is not only the food but the staff is top notch and have it down pat on how to interact with customers. They knew we were on a bday holiday for my best friend and played right into the festive nature of our vacation. Lots of food and drink and laughs with the wait staff, bartenders and the owner!

It was by far one of highlights of our trip for the overall experience...it was so good, we canceled a foo-foo fancy dinner the next night and went back.

We enjoyed dinner here last year when we were in Barcelona, and we were lucky to find the place again, as we had forgotten the name, but remembered the neighborhood!

Gilda is a cozy little place with some very unique dishes. We enjoyed the ceviche, the fresh-tasting pea soup with shrimp ice cream, the slow-cooked chicken and rice with curry ice cream, and the salmon with stir-fried veggies and soya, topped with a grainy-mustard ice cream. The ice creams sound really crazy, but they are spot-on for flavor and melt into a delicious sauce.
This has become one of our go-to places in Barcelona for something tasty, but a bit different.

The owner has a gelato place nearby which sells these flavors and more (black olive, rosemary, mushroom, basil...), plus the usual dessert flavors. Check it out!

Salute Williams. He provided fantastic service. The experience was wonderful. Food was delicious. Camembert triangles were amazing as were spinach & pine nut croquettes. A great place to enjoy what Barcelona has to offer.

Located in a lovely part of town, just a few streets away from Las Ramblas however entirely different atmosphere, we found Gilda. We visited because of reviews on TA and found the food and service to our satisfaction. Not outstanding but good food all the same. The kitchen had a problem with both my dishes, both supposed to be hot but were not (in fact my main course of chicken green curry was very cold indeed and I had to ask to have it reheated which put me off a bit.). It is November and not as busy so only one person serving for the bar and the restaurant and when a few more diners came in I think it would have been better to have someone else helping. All the same, a nice environment and decent honest food. Reasonably priced and if you think the heating issues I experienced were unfortunate, then I'd recommend you try out.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for visiting us in november. Probably you arrived early in the evening and this is why from 18.30-20.00 (low season) we have one waiter to start and a second one comes in as it gets busier after 20.00. I am sorry to read that your main dish was not hot enough to your standards: I always insist that whenever food is ready it has to be taken to the corresponding table at once. Due to the small kitchen we haven't found a solution yet to include a dish pre-heating system in order to keep everything warm for a longer period. But we definitely will look again into this matter.
Best regards

We spent five incredible days in Barcelona and enjoyed a wide range of restaurants ranging from high priced Michelin starred gastronomic extravaganzas to corner tapas joints. Gilda's does not aim to be provide a three or even one star Michelin meal, but in many ways the result is even better! We ate everything from the potatoes bravas to the duck to the curried ice cream with fried shrimp and every portion was substantial, incredibly well prepared and creative. Combine that with excellent and friendly service along with a table visit from the owner and reasonable prices and this place earns its five stars easily. If we were not going home tomorrow, we would certainly return. Don't miss it.
