Description: Welcome to Gilda Tapas y Platos! Dedicated to the fading art of good service and fine, flavorful food at a good price, we seek out the freshest, quality ingredients to ensure your experience is of the highest calibre from beginning (our delectable gourmet tapas) to end (our mouth watering house-made deserts)! Since we are part of Belgious, don't be surprised to discover that some of our dishes come with wasabi, ginger, curry or even cannabis ice-cream ! Our kitchen opens every evening from 18:30 till midnight (even later during weekends), meaning you can even walk in at 23:45 and still enjoy dinner with us. If you would like to try our gastronomy at noon, we do open the restaurant -prior reservation- for private groups from 14 to 38 guests (Ideal for celebrations or company related luncheons).

This was our first visit to this restaurant and indeed Barcelona and it did not disappoint. The food, service and ambience were all first rate. We begun our meal with a selection of Tapas including Spinach Croquettes and Hummus served with really good flatbread. Both were really tasty and just the right size portions to leave room for main courses which were on a different level again. In particular the beef stewed in Leffe Beer which simply melted apart and tasted superb and was accompanied by 'chunky chips' despite being described as Belgian fries on the menu. The other main of duck on a bed of pumpkin purée was also good. Accompanied by attentive but not intrusive service it made for an excellent start to our trip.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for visiting Gilda during your stay in Barcelona. We feature the flemish beef stew since the opening back in january 2011 an our cooks further improved the recipe gradually to which -like you say- melting apart and so full of taste. Also the Duck -which we source from a small family owned farm- is really unique. Your positive feedback motivates the team to keep up the good work!
Best Regards
Michel

Visited Gilda with my husband a couple of nights ago and had a thoroughly enjoyable meal. The patatas bravas are so tasty and we particularly enjoyed the prawns with curry ice cream, amazing! All the food was amazing i would definitely reccomend it. Service was friendly but relaxed. The only negative would be that our white wine was not chilled enough. Would go back without hesitation.

As a starter we had a few tapas to share. Out of the tapas i really enjoyed the Potatoes Gilda those were accompanied with really tasty souce of dried tomatos. But my personal highlight out of the tapas was the bluefin of the tuna cevicche i really can recommand that to everybody the taste is exquisite!!!! As a main course i had the duck magret!!Awsame!! the meat and the puree of the sweet potatoe!!Really really delicios and recommandable this dish. Beside that the service in that restaurant was really pleasant and attentive. All in all we had a great stay in there!!

Dear Guest,
Thank you for visiting Gilda !
Our bravas -indeed- are different because we use fresh potatoes, unpeeled (more flavor) fried the Belgian way and topped with our unique home made sauce. You are right to mention the duck magret and perhaps svn more the perfect combination with the sweet potato puree perfumed with a tip of cinnamon. We will be glad to welcome you again if you come back to Barcelona ;-)
Best Regards
Michel

The fact that we returned the 2nd time says alot about the food. Food was delicious everything we ate was good! esp the tuna tataki with pasta a must try!!

Service can be slow as business is very good! Go early to avoid waiting and make reservation if you can.

Quite a little find we had at 11pm on a Tuesday when we arrived late to Barcelona. Took a wrong turn and missed our dinner reservation at Toro d'el mar but this totally made up for it. We were trying to decide what to choose from the extensive tapas menu when a man pointed out the Argentinian shrimp and curry ice cream and told us we had to try it. It turns out this was the Owner of gildas. He was so nice and gave us not only great tips about what to try, but also the history of the food origins. Some local and some imported from his home in Belgium. The beef stew was amazing!! Just mouthwatering! And the waffles were really good too. Definitely try this place if you get the chance, I wish we were staying longer to go back again!

Thank Marianne D
