It was interesting to see different types of fish and sharks. The Aquarium is massive which has a food court, submarine etc in there. You can buy a picture with your family or friends with a statue of a dolphin. It is about 20€ for adults ticket and 15€ for a child's ticket which it is not bad.

“Enjoyable & Interesting Afternoon Out!”
Reviewed July 23, 2013

The Aquarium is located at the Port Vell region which is next to the marina. It is 20 euros for an adult and 15 euros for a child, however we printed out the voucher which is on the official Aquarium website for 2 euros off for each person, so saved 4 euros! This voucher can be used for up to 4 people for a maximum 8 euros discount.

When you enter the Aquarium, you have the opportunity to have your picture taken with a large shark model and can then purchase the picture if you choose for 8 euros when you leave the Aquarium. This is a nice addition to the visit, and you are under no obligation to purchase the picture! (No pressure by staff at all!)

The Aquarium is divided into 3 sections;

Section 1 is a series of tanks with different types of fish including tropical fish (Finding Nemo tank!) and Sea Horses. At each tank there is a map showing where all fish can be found in the wild & interesting information about the species.

Section 2 is the underwater walkway which has a conveyor belt that you can stand on and be moved underneath a water tunnel with Sharks and Stingrays swimming above your head. Excellent photo opportunities here, however do not use flash photography as it can harm the fish! This is a very enjoyable experience, as you can get 'up close' to the Sharks and other weird and wonderful fish!

Section 3 has other fish tanks, interactive screens, an indoor play park and Penguins! Make sure you go inside the giant whale - here you can see jellyfish in ultraviolet tanks.

On leaving the Aquarium there is of course a large gift shop. There are some great souvenirs to purchase and of course you can purchase you welcome photo which we did!

A great afternoon out - we spent around an hour and a half in the Aquarium, however if you have children with you, you could easily spend the full afternoon!

“Have you been to an Aquarium before? If yes, then skip this one”
Reviewed July 22, 2013

Very average and somewhat boring aquarium. The only interesting tank is the large shark tank you view on a motorized pedway. Much better things to do in Barcelona, don't waste your time here.

“Average, good if you have kids”
Reviewed July 21, 2013 via mobile

It cost ?20/per adult and it looks all nice from the outside and there is a walking tunnel were the fish are all around you, which is nice but it was absolutely packed so hard to look at everything at your own pace. But if you have kids there is a educational playground that looks great for them. But for us in our 20s the money would be better spent elsewhere.

“Very disappointing”
Reviewed July 20, 2013

Maybe ok for children who don't notice the condition of the tanks but it is clear they have either a budget of management problem. One could see the bottom of the actual tank structures. Maybe staff needs to spend more time cleaning and updating the tanks. Tank descriptions were small and hard to read. Adults should skip this site as $$ not worth the visit.
