If you get a sunny day Tibidabo is a must. If you take the Peu de Finuclar stop you can take a nice walk by Font de la Budellera on your way up the hill. Beautiful views of the city and beautiful mosaics inside the church. This is a must see.

I would suggest taking the old blue trolly car to the top (where it drops you off) then jump on the train type thing that takes you to the very top. Up at the top of the mountain there is a huge amusement park as well as a beautiful church that you can climb to the top of and see amazing views of Barcelona as well as the ocean.

Usually, you take so much time planning your vacations in such detail, that in the end, as fantastic as your vacations may have been, you get that little tingling in the back of your mind, and there's this voice askings "Yes, this was damn good, but did it fully live up to my expectations?". Most of the times, the answer is "no". Don't worry, this is only natural, and very humane. It's not a problem of the vacations themselves, rather a problem caused by your utopic expectations. And that is precisely the reason why I loved Tibidabo so much. And probably also the reason why, if you are reading this review, you will not find it as amazing as I did. Because in fact, I had never heard of Tibidabo when I "discovered" it. It was a total and utter accident that I should search my GPS device for "Mountain views" near my GPS position. And my GPS brought me to this unexpected mountain in the outskirt of Barcelona, and on top of this mountain, an amazing cathedral, and a theme park! It has the best view over the city of Barcelona, a little cafe where you can eat or drink something while enjoying the view, and a theme park filled with rides that, apart from not being the fastest, or most modern rides, will give you the "heebeegeebees" just because they are "hanging" on the side of the mountain. A great place to visit AT LEAST ONCE in your life. Highly recomend.

I have never heard of Tibidabo Mountain before. However, it was one of the stops on the Hop On-Hop Off Tourist Bus, so I decided we should give it a go. We used the discount coupons given by the tourist bus for both the old-timer Tram as well as the Funicular needed to get to the top of the mountain.

We were rewarded with the exhilarating view of two grand churches, one above the other. The higher church had a view deck that gave you a great view of the city as well. It was very cold in Barcelona that day, and it was terribly windy up there, but it was really beautiful and worth the trip. There were also a lot of kids that Sunday in the amusement park there, and it looked like they were having a lot of fun.
