A lovely functional apartment. Lift to all floors and an excellent base for travelling all over the city. Excellent service from the staff who were always on duty during the day. Travelling is all about that. If you want somewhere to lay your head thats clean, quiet and close to transport, book this place.More
Stayed here 6 nights, the location was very good, close to the metro, subway, tram and buses. I would recommend a 10 pass metro ticket to go into the central regions of Barcelona, it's 9.95 Euros,
The first night we arrived very late and were given a tiny studio apartment the size of a closet. the bed was rickety, the furniture was cheap junk, not at all what the sales photos showed, when we asked to have a better room we were given a selection of several much better apartments, all be it without a view, the only daylight was from a 4 story shaft which 4 floors of apartments shared along with their cooking smells.
The apartments were clean, the one we settled on was on the ground floor, with a bedroom 1 floor down in what had been a cellar, very quite, and quite large with 2 double beds and 2 single beds, much more than we needed, and too many for the size of the main apartment. The apartment could sleep up to 7 people, I would not want to share this apartment with 4 let alone 7 people!
The bathroom in the apartment suffered from a lack of good maintenance allowing water to leak out on the floor for hours after we finished showering
For the price we paid it was reasonable for the 2 of us, considering the location.
The WI-fi worked sporadically at best, totally unreliable for business purposes and too slow to use Skype except to type some text messages.
The available parking was on the street (if you could find a spot nearby), and the apartment building is down a narrow side alley in the middle of an industrial region.
I would recommend caution before booking one of these apartments.

First of all thanks for spend time sharing your opinion with other travellers. It's very useful to know what to expect and what not.
The first apartment you had is one of the most loved apartments of our building. It is little, is completely true, but it is in the last floor and it enjoys a private terrace. As you were looking for space and you didn't like it, we allowed you to choose another free apartment, as our aim is to give pleasant experiences and it is very easy when a couple wants to change from the most looked apartment of the building!
Following the advice of some customers, our apartments allow to sleep up to 4 people. Many time ago in one of the apartments could slept up to 6 people (not 7), but it is not sold since time ago, for practical reasons (how many type of apartments are sold). However, you were 2 people and we think the apartment we offered you was big enough for your needs. As you could see, there are two big beds and one bunk bed that becomes two single beds in the apartment, as well as a sofa bed in the upper floor. This is because it allows four people to sleep in two, three or four separate beds occupying one or both floors. I think this is a plus for the customer, but it doesn't mean 7 people sleep there as it seems you deducted.
About the "a 4 story shaft which 4 floors of apartments", just let you know our building has three and not four floors and anybody has reported any problem with any kind of smell. These courtyards are very tipical in Barcelona's buildings and this is big enough for a small building. As we offered several apartments to change to... why you didn't take one of the front part? I suppose because they are more little and you were looking for big spaces...
We also performance a regular maintenance to bathroom and the rest of the apartment. However, apartments receiv many guests. You could just report the problem and we would solve it the same day, as we have a company with express service serving all our accommodations.
Thanks appreciating our location and value for money, it's a good thing to hear it! I don't know what idea you get from our pics, but the kind of furniture is exactly as it looks there and we don't sell apartments with views... Cheap and practical furniture, as we sell fully equipped and practical apartments offering value for money, not luxury flats with marvellous views.
All apartments enjoy a private computer with free internet since December 2012 and it caused problems in the internet speed during January 2013, when you were sleeping with us, as the available speed were not enough to attend all the connections of our customers devices and the computers in the apartments. We are sorry about that and we completely agree with you in this issue, and as soon as we knew it we solve it. Now we are looking also to put optical fiber in the next months.

The bathroom had a very bad ventilation (no window). Ther was also mold on the ceiling. You could smell it in the appartment.

All our bathrooms have a forced ventilation system when they don't have a window, as required by law. We are sorry if you though it was not enough.
About mold on ceiling, the only possible reason is that the roof were wet and mold appeared and our staff would not notice. We understand that you seem unpleasant and we apologize for it. For future occasions (in any accommodation) we recommend you to alert staff if you discover problems like this. They will change you of apartment and will call our maintenance service that will come the same day to solve the problem.

Bad location so when someone don't know the area you can be very surprised !
For the rest the appartment was clean but hydraulic problems ( bad evacuation in the bathroom and the tap in the kitchen was broken.

Thanks for sharing your experience in this website. It is important other users can know the opinions of other travellers before book their accommodation. Moreover the observations of the guests help to us to improve our services.
We do not agree about “bad location” of Barcelona City Apartment. Our apartments are located next to Glorias Square, Agbar Tower and 22@ business district. It is true that the street where the apartments are located is a passage, perhaps not very urban, but it not becomes the place in a “bad location”. In addition, Barcelona City Apartments are located a few minutes walking away to metro, bus and tram stop, so you can arrive wherever you want quickly, as we are two blocks away of one of the main transport hubs of the city.
Regarding the hydraulic problems, we are sorry about it but it would have been better to warn of this problem to our staff in order to look for a fast solution.
We appreciate you have rated as very good our cleanliness, service and your sleep quality, as well as the apartment itself. We see the location was a big problem for you and that you found us as to be offering poor value for money, which is problably one the the things our guests most appreciate in Barcelona City Apartment.
